Yummy quinoa! I love it, but my family doesn't. Just like bulghur. *sigh* I still try to sneak it in at times and sometimes they don't notice, haha!

Went to see my neurologist today, for my yearly check for my seizures, she said I need to loss weight DUH!! But she said at my age 59 I should be eating way less. 600 cal a day instead of the 900 I was going for, because my metabolism is so low and because I am unable to do lots of exercise. She said instead of eating "meals" snacks would be better.

Thats unbelievable Brooks- 600 calories a day I think your body will think it is in starvation mode and you wont lose weight. Good website www.eatcleandiet.com very good information in the book about nutrition and a healthy way to eat without starving yourself. Eating clean unprocessed food. .

I know it seems low but seems to work better for me. I have found that about 750 and I feel good and not hungry. I think she was saying was I didn't need 1200 or 1000 aday but i could go much lower providing I was eating a well balanced diet. This will take forever, nothing quick for me.

Wow!! It is hard for me to stay in the 1200-1600 cal range. I would think powering your wheelchair around would count as exercise.

haha Ad, I know exactly where mine is, I was just avoiding it! Bit the bullet and stepped on this morning - ouch! I'm going to lose the weight this time for real - plus, if I gain 6 more pounds, I'm banning myself from riding until I lose...that should be motivation! I think I'm going to try the Couch to 5k thing...I enjoy running, I'm just not very good at it! And pop has to go We can do it though!

ok so I haven't posted for awhile but I'm so excited because I've lost 11 pounds in the last month and a half. I've been using this program online for free called Lose it! It has the exercises and calorie input and how much you want to lose. I still have about 7 more pounds to lose but I'm getting closer! Common girls, you can do it! I've been limiting my calories to about 1200 a day and maintaining my regular regimen of riding, etc. So far it's working. I also have discovered I get full much sooner and I think my stomach has shrank which is a good thing... Come on ladies, you can do it!

Brooks, did you sign up? I'm that borderline right now of 159 (darn water weight gain) but I've started running a little over 3 miles each day along with riding. Even though the scale is lying, everyone is making comments so I am attributing it to muscle! ;D

As of this morning my weight was 142. I have not lost very much over the last couple months, but I can tell I am getting stronger, and toned. I bought a pair of size 4's this weekend, so I am more than happy with my workout results!!!

Lisa, you've probably not lost because you are gaining muscle. It's the clothes that tell the story. I'm down to 154 now and trying for 150. My jeans that used to be snug are baggy! yeah!!! I've been running 3 miles almost every day and find when I am really hungry, if I drink lots or excercise, my hunger disappears. I'm so excited that I"ll hopefully be able to wear a bikini this year! whooop! Although I'm loosing my boobs. Why does that have to happen? Why can't we just loose our hip fat and not the boobs? lol

LOL I wish I could move some boobage to my hips. I have no booty!!!! I wish I could wear a bikini, sadly after loosing all that weight, parts of my body looks like a sharpei!! If only I could find a sugar daddy to pay for cosmetic surgery.....or even better if I could find a nice country boy that likes me for me!!!!!

I've been stuck at the same weight (give or take a pound or 2) for a while. Grrr. I want to lose 5. I can't seem to give up fresh bread and 70% dark chocolate Hopefully with the nice weather I can walk and bike more, and that will do the trick...

I went on a potato chip fast in April! I decided I'd just avoid my greatest weakness. Skipped sugar fairly successfully until Easter. Oops. I only have a few more malted milk filled chocolate eggs to nibble, and then I'll be good again. Not sure how, but a pair of pants that were too small 18 months ago look just fine now. I'm afraid I'm losing my behind, though. One of those old lady things. But I've been on my bike a little lately, and that could help! If it ever stops raining, I'll pedal some more.
