I'm in! I'm about 10-15lbs "fluffier" than need-be. I've lost most of my muscle tone and my cardio is a joke. Since last year this time, I haven't done hardly anything because of my foot injury. Now, I'm not used to working out and I eat like crap!!
I need a change!

I lost 40 pounds about 5 years ago..kept it off. I work out now probably 4-5 days a week..just can't seem to lose this last 15-20.
Drives me absolutely nuts.

Ok girls, I started ahead of you, but this is where I'm at.. I started my diet at 243 pounds. Yes badly overweight. My first goal is 190. I have under 4 pounds to go. Then I will reset my goal to 160. If I can do it, so can you, just be patient, and if you mess up don't look back, tomorrow is another day!

very true. i also think that this ridiculosly ongoing PMS that i'm having is screwing with my mind somewhat. when i look at the scale, it doesn't seem to correlate with the michelin man feeling that i'm having. i have to keep that in mind that no one else sees the bologna sandwich i just ate hanging off my outer thigh.....

My goal #1 is 5 pounds, just like sarafina. I have raging pms right now too, which doesn't help. It just sucks to diet all week, and have the scale say I'm a pound heavier. I think the scale is broken

My goal is 50 lbs by spring. Once I can move again, I have my exercise plan ready to go. Until then all I want is buffalo chicken and cake.

I had to be in the right frame of mind to make it work. I tried dieting before, with the same place, and only lasted a month or two. I wanted to lose the weight, but thought I'd go back to what I used to eat when it was over. I got tired of measuring everything etc. Now I realize for me that it's a change in lifestyle. My old ways were unhealthy. So instead of thinking of it as temporary, I look at ways to get small amounts of my old things, without gaining a ton. I can still go out to eat, but have to really behave the rest of the day and maybe the next. Instead of ordering pizza, I make it. I can have chips, crackers and ice cream, but I have to pay attention to portion sizes. Sometimes frustrating, but easier to deal with this time around. I tend to repeat some meals during a week so I don't have to weigh it each time, I can look at it and compare. And let me tell you, there is nothing better than having pants that slide off you if they are not belted!!!! I've outgrown (in a good way) at least 4 pairs of pants so far.
Best help I've gotten is knowing what I can have calorie wise in a day. I can have 220-260 calories per meal (except for dinner I can have up to 420) with 5 meals plus dinner. Then its just a matter of portion control. Also I have two cookbooks with good low calorie recipes, then just use common sense. When I want to splurge a little I make sure to get on the treadmill to offset being "bad".

Ok guys, I need some exercises I can do without using my right leg. Most of the things I do needs legs to do them. I have been doing straight leg raises, and crunches. Really I am bored sitting around watching tv, and I need a good workout.

what about an exercise ball? you can sit on that and do arm weights, and crunches and whatnot, but even if you're "sitting" and watching TV, it challenges your core, so to speak.
mta: what about an arm bike? that will be a calorie burner too..

Some of the yoga I do doesn't really need two legs. Some of the arm/stomach toning stuff.

Speaking of Yoga, oh man I went to a class tonight (Beginners-all levels) and I've never sweated as much...ever!! It may not be ideal to lose weight per se, but it certainely tones those under-used muscles. I'm going to pay for it tomorrow...and the next...and then I'll go back to class on Sat. morning. That's right tho, you can find yoga poses that don't "require" your right legs. Pilates, as well. Great for core muscles.
My first goal is 5 pounds as well. And in order to achieve it, I just bought a pair of really great pants that would fit Oh So Much Better if I was 5 pounds thinner. Motivation, motivation!

Good idea. I got my ball out, and tried just sitting on it. Wow i need to work on my balance. I have been doing yoga like poses, have you ever tried to get dressed w/o bending your leg. Then after all that I baked a cake, not any cake, but a german chocolate, w coconut pecan carmel icing. I didnt eat any of it, I just needed something to take my mind off the pain in my leg. Honestly I will send this cake to my grandpa, I will not eat any of it. Ill just keep telling myself that!!!
