Thanks GM!
I think I'm going to start skipping afternoon break so that I'm not tempted to get anything out of the Evil vending machines. I'll have to start bringing my snacks with me to work.

Okay. Yesterday was a pretty bad day, so my new mantra will have to be "Today is a new day...". I had a butterfinger bar for breakfast, and went to lunch with my mom. We only go once a week, so I think I'll let myself splurge to an extent. I had chicken, tuna, and crab salad sandwiches (hello, mayo!), and some lemon tea bread, and a pretzel salady thing. Dinner was a cup of chili followed by a few french fries. I was tempted to blow today, but saw this thread and got some much needed motivation. Lunch will be a side salad, and dinner will be a turkey wrap with ranch dressing. Unlike BHK, I DONT feel thinner already.....

no riding for me today, sadly. I was doing very well until I was force-fed a cookie. No, I'm not lying! It's student life week here on campus, and they literally shoved the box in my face and said "Here! TAKE ONE!" So I did Not to say I wouldn't sell my soul for another, though Haha...the next goal is getting registered at the fitness center on campus. That'll hold me over until I can afford an elliptical

OK I'm jumping in on this. I need to change the way I eat, and to loose some weight. I am joining curves as soo \n as my knee is up to it. I did this a couple years ago and cut bread, and fast food out, and lost 80 lbs. Unfortunately, some of that weight found it way back, but im sure I can do it again. My problem is I wait until I am ready to pass out from hunger, and need something now, and it is usually something very bad. Plus I cannot cook to save my life so I eat easy to prepare bad food!!! I need easy to prepare healthy food.

Okay...today, so far so good, i think. Breakfast was 2 saltine crackers at 9:00. I was starving, but I ate slow, and by the time I started the second, I wasn't even hungry anymore! Lunch was a Quizno's sub. I used to think they were healthy, but after some research online, I'm not so sure. However, mine appears to have only had 348 calories, so I guess I'm doing okay. I'm up to at least 20 oz of water so far. So, according to the chart, some bread is "ok"? I need to print that out and laminate it! I got a huge lecture from a friend last night that I shouldn't be going on a diet, and I should be happy with how I am. Skinny people just don't get it....

A free calorie calculator at www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm gives you an idea of how many calories you should be eating in a day. My diet plan has 5 meals at 220-260 calories, and dinner at 420 calories a day just to give you an idea.

I'll join too. I started working out about 45 minutes a day during the summer, and am about to bump it up to an hour. I am also trying to stop eating tv dinners and packaged foods (I do get the healthy ones like Amy's and Weight Watchers, but stil....) and stop going out to eat for lunch so much. I was doing well until the semester started, but I am so busy now the routine has gone south. My main goal is to make my diet less carb based, which isn't easy as a vegetarian. I am trying to learn how to cook and find time to cook I was raised on fast food, tv dinners, and soda -- I've come a long way from that, but making these big changes is hard! Here is today's meal which is pretty standard for me: Breakfast-Special K cereal + light soy milk Lunch-Weight Watcher's Squash ravioli and vegetables Snack - sunflower seeds Dinner - Tofu vegetable stir fry drinks - water and black coffee The weight loss is slooowww and I am still pudgy, so I don't know what gives

Has anyone checked out the Body for Life program? I love the no gimmick approach. It is about eating 6 meals a day of "clean" foods and 6 workouts per week (all under 1 hour). It seems excessive or difficult at first but as soon as you get into the swing of things its a great lifelong habit.
