Edited 4/2/03 to say: If you haven't stopped by this thread yet or you are new to the forum, please make this thread your first stop and introduce yourself to the crowd! Welcome! With all the new user names & such, who the heck can figure out who anyone is?? So would everyone, with the exception of Guess Who who has a special pass for temporary anonism. (HA! is that word?? Should be anyway!) please take a moment to introduce yourself. And besides just identifying yourself, I think we have a enough newbies now that we should do the full round of introductions. I'm Keely, owned by Brisco County the World's Most Expensive Piece of Yard Art - 11 y/o (HE'S ELEVEN ALREADY?? ) OTTB that I groomed some while he was racing and got on Christmas day a few years ago. I was a graphic designer for 12 years in my previous life, quit that to take my part-time job to full time and now I groom racehorses/manage a trainer's farm (TB racing farm). I use the term "manage" loosely. I help Christi with this forum and site some, and I'm the Fairmount Park Coordinator for CANTER of IL (my "other" full time job). That's enough about me........ next??

Keely, you always forget to say that you did the beautiful graphics for Exracers.com, and that you have helped [glow=red,2,300]so much[/glow] with the site and this new forum! You're too modest. And now about me! I'm Christi, 31, I live in Plano, TX (Dallas area), and I have had Easy King for over three years now, who I brought off the track when he was 10. King isn't sound, but he loves to bowl, play music, and other clicker training stuff. I am the Mommy to Nathan, a 20 month old precious boy, www.justnate.net who amazes me every day. I work full time in the technology industry, and I'm also the webmaster of Exracers.com. I may be starting my own business soon! That's about it... Next! Christi

Im Tina, 33, NY state. I have 4 kids ages 5 to 14 and for now am married. Im owned by Chocolate Tango since last June, the mare with an attitude problem LOL. Tangos is turning 7 on the 10th but thinks shes going on 2 . She was raced and did ok but was then retired to be a brood mare which didnt work out and thats how I got the chance to have her. I have no real plans to show and will just enjoy Tango althou I might have someone else show her since I have been told she would make an awsome dressage horse, she is totaly awsome to watch when shes out at pasture showing off hehehe. Tango was retired and raced clean with no injuries althou she was pin-fired on both fronts at about 4 years old due to she toes in a bit and they figured while she raced it would strengthen her ankles duhhh...I also have a shih tzu(lil mop dogs LOL), 2 cats, 6 fish and a rabbit.

I'm Johnnie (a chickie for any wondering), 31, and I live in East Texas where all the shuttle pieces are. It's tiny, it's rural, and this is the only reason why anyone would ever know where it is besides one racial incident a few years back. Anyway, I was an Environmentalist for a natural gas pipeline company for years, but the stress, and long hours got to be too much and I quit to take a part-time job and start riding eventers. Now I am a working student, I market Event horses for my trainer and a few others, I'm also an equine photographer, and I recently started making shoulder guards, sleazies, and horse treats which have been selling at my barn like crazy. My next goal is to purchase a house and start a small boarding operation. I ride Forest, a chestnut TB with 3 stockings who recently had to have some teeth pulled and got false ones to replace them. I'm still on the lookout for a horse of my own, but not "looking". I figure when I stop looking, one will fall in my lap that I love and have to have. I also have a Siberian Husky, Duke aka Devilpup.

Hi, I'm Renee, 33 years young, I live in Hanover PA, home of Utz & Snyders Snack goodies! I am recently separated (for the second time in a year from the same ) I am currently a SAHM to 3 wonderful kids, 13, 11 and 4. I am originally from Australia, (Dad's an American) I came back over here 10 years ago this past Nov. In my wild and crazy youth, I worked as a track exerciser for a racing stable on the beautiful Gold Coast of Australia. My first Ex-racer was a gorgeous Man O'War descendant named Zeenanie, he came into my life July of 2000 and won me over. Unfortunately we lost Zee last Thanksgiving to colic. We now have another OTTB ~ Smarty (Let's Get Smart) a 12 yr old gelding who won the WV Futurity Stakes in his racing days. A OTSTB named Beau ~ he's 15yrs old and just as kind and gentle as can be. He traces back to Dean Hanover, one of the founding stallions of Hanover Shoe Farms. A cute Quarter horse Mare named Sweetie, shes 6yrs old. Daughter #2's Hunter show horse (to be) My son's leadline pony, his name is Jaffa and he is also 6yrs. No idea of his breed although he came in woolly like a shetland this winter. Lastly we have Bitsy, the newest addition to our hearts, a cute 2yr old filly from New Vocations in Ohio (Smay's backyard!) She was bred to race but due to her teeny stature (a whopping 14.1) will never run! She is going to be trained as a Hunter eventually, for now we are going to let her grow and enjoy life as an adolescent! Aside from all our equine friends we also have a Lab/Rottie mix puppy Toby ~ weighing in at 65lbs at the 4 1/2 month old mark, and my son's therapeutic pet a Dwarf Russian Blue Hamster named Sergei. He's adorable too!

Are they related to Labradoodles?
OK-introducing myself: My name is Lee and I'm 29 until July. I live in Williamsburg, VA and I'm a landscape architect/planner. I have a 14yo TB mare names Madeline who used to race, event, and fox hunt. Lately, she's been hanging out doing nothing but I plan to get back into trail riding with her this year and might start trying to hunt her some in the fall. We school dressage at home(not my home but my friend's home where I keep Madeline). I'm also considering teaching her to drive if I can get some help around here. I also have a beagle dog named Jenny Lu and a cat named Tyler.
I grew up in Maryland where I cowboyed around as a kid running speed events on ponies. After college I started taking lessons and fell in love with the TB. I bought Madeline 3 years ago after selling my Quarter Horse.

I was laughing so hard at Renee's post with all her :curse: :curse: coments about her husband! hahaha Anyhow, I'm still the same S.May.. so no new news.... But for the real newbies, I had Christi change me to "old nag" cause I don't feel much like a "maiden." Am old, live in Ohio, have three kids and a totally goofy, NH hubby, plus all the pets that are usually available for sale in the U.S., including one TB (Teddy), on STB (Winny) and one Welsh pony (Twister) who my daughter rides in Pony Club, and is the only horse I currently own that will ride in the trailer to a horse show and act right. So I don't show.

Coooeeee Claire here. There are 2 Claire's here (we're both cool), so I go by Claire (lasvegas) or the snappier new and improved (and slightly more anonymous) ClaireLV. I'm a Brit transplanted to Las Vegas, working as an animal trainer with parrots, but I also have to take care of some large saltwater fish tanks (involving diving amongst other non-animal trainer things). I also conduct educational programmes on rainforests and so on and so on. In my 'spare'time I write on the subject of animal training and should at this very moment be working on my parrot book. I have 2 OTTBs Jasper and Avalon, and STILL (for pity's sake) have a QH for sale. I also own a macaw, a cockatoo, two dogs, a cat, guinea pigs, a bunny, and a fishtank. Hubby has a snake. No kids (prolly a good thing huh).
