It was either a Marriott-owned or a Hampton Inn, because we use Roger's reward points. And we never get our rooms more than a few weeks in advance- go figure!

Seriously I got the Hyatt in Downtown Lexington on Hotwire for $59. It was regularly something like $269. A Night.
Anyway, I think you are right it's Hampton Inn Thea. I like that one. It's nice, but DARN your Reward Points! I don't haf any.

And guess what - i didn't like the Hyatt all that much. Too fancy and too far from the Horse Park and crummy restaurants that cost too much and stuff...

I think we're just going for cheap, we're lucky enough to be able to consider even going at all!

I have seen a loose dog on the course at Rolex. It cured me of ever wanting to take one of mine. It was a big, dark greyhound, I think, and it was chasing the horse! On the other hand, I once saw an English Setter there that was so fantastic I couldn't stop thinking about it. Next thing you know, I had Lucy.
Oh, I don't know about Rolex. It would be a last minute impulse, if at all. But I recommend it for anyone who's never been! It's a spectacle, and if the weather is nice, it's literally a walk in the park. (For spectators, that is.)

(For spectators, that is.) I was there that year too. The owner of the greyhound was mortified! I took my shepherd with one year, he spent most of the time at the campground. I was parked in the overflow area. It's a lot of responsibility having a dog with you. There were a lot of announcements over the PA about come get your dog out of your car, or we will get him out. Oddly, most of those calls were in the special parking for Patrons and such. Probably not going, but hopefully will get the right time off to go next year. And yes, SMay got the best deal ever. Heck, I don't think you can even get in the crappy Knights Inn for that anymore. The Knights Inn used to be not that bad, but then again, I don't tend to stay in Hilton's, Hyatt's or such.

OooOOo I think I will go!!! Thanks for planting that idea in my head lol! I'm trying to convince my friend to go with me, she seems interested but who knows. Maybe I'll go it alone anyways if she won't! I've never even been on an airplane so it will be quite an adventure for me to get there from BC, Canada hehe!

Is anyone going on thursday/friday that would be willing to stake out a campsite for me? We're thinking of primitive camping but won't roll in until 2 am Friday!!

I might be able to do that Welkin. We are PROBABLY going down Thursday afternoon after school. Not sure of the procedure to register for campsites, but I have enough camping equipment to set up something that would reserve your spot. What you might want to do is try to confirm with the campground that there would be places left on Thursday evening...
