I'm hoping to go this year. Would you want to camp Welkins?

Possibly! I'm not too picky, and cheaper is always better. My BF may go, and I need to ask a friend is she wants to go (she's a real eventer, not a pretender like me lol).
Also, what's the dog situation? Not sure if its worth bringing the mutt or boarding him.

I don't know about the dog situation but it seems a lot of people bring their dogs.

We may go again this year, but DH will not camp. He's such a wuss. A lot of people bring dogs, but unless yours is perfectly behaved, and can handle all of the chaos calmly (tons of people, other dogs, galloping horses, etc), I would advise against it. I have thought about bringing ours, but I think he would be overloaded, and become a problem. Shelby and I have talked about one year applying to be outriders- that would be so cool!

P.S. You do not want to be the one whose dog gets loose and runs amok, ruining someone's dream of riding at Rolex. I think I would be too embarassed to claim my dog!

It's gonna be fun Welkin!
Hey Thea - what was the hotel you guy stayed at last year over there next to the lovely Cracker Barrel? It's the only one left over there that's nice. The Ramada, La Quinta and of course Knights Inn are all crap.

I've had such good luck with Holiday Inn Expresses, that I'm almost considering booking the one in Frankfort. It's only 15 miles away. I love Georgetown but most of the good ones are already booked! Pffft.
