Hi, my name is Jo. I live in Ontario, Canada. I am OLD (early 40's EEEEEEK!) :bang: I have a NH husband, a 17 year old son (who just wrote off our car..) and a almost 13 year old (going on 25) daughter. I have a home-bred Canadian warmblood mare Elly (aka Gauguin's Ariel), rising 5, who's in dressage training (although her REAL love is rodeo..) and my first OTT Lucky (aka Best of Luck, formerly known as Cat's Governor). I also have a German Shepherd, Bogie, a rescue kitty, Snickelfritz (don't ask), a hamster (Snickers) and a painted turtle, Andy. I used to show when I was a teenager (back in Holland), but now mostly ride for pleasure, although I will probably show my dressage-equine in order to justify her existence to my hubby! (Did I mention he refers to the horsies as "four-legged money-suckers" ??) HEHEHE (he has a point!). Anyway, this is an awesome board, I've learned so much, and it's fun to read all the posts...that Bungholio chicken was hilarious!!!!!!!! :hahaha: :hahaha:

Oops - I missed this and made my first stop on the other forum with a post already! Sorry! I'm a newbie - late 30's (eeek), married with two girls turning 7 & 10 this summer. My animal family consists of two mares - 6 & 8 - Fuzzy is my 6 yo OTTB who I posted about. She is a handful and I'm not sure if I'm up to the challenge! Melika is a little arab who I think will be a good horse. Neither of them is a "let the kids hop on and have fun" kind of horse - wish I had one of those! We also have a lab (also female - loved the labradoodle thing!), a female housecat, 6 females barn cats, and ONE male barncat (my husband feels a real connection to him - there is way too much estrogen floating around our place!). I think that's it.

Hi, I am Chelsea. I live in Jersey City, NJ and work in NYC. Not the most friendly horse place in the world, but I manage to ride weekly and am looking for a barn for a new OTTB. I have been riding since I was 3 1/2, started lessoning at 5 and had my first OTTB project at 12. I did the equitation, jumper world for a bit, made it to my B in Pony Club, and then went hed long into eventing. I have competed all over including the Rolex course through Prelim. Since my first OTTB have I have owned one more and trained many for clients. If anyone knows of any respectable barns in my area, please let me know! Or if anyone needs some help with their ponies, I would be happy to offer my services! I have been lurking as a non-member on this site for at least 5 months so I feel like I know most of you already!

My father is a Equine Veternarian, so I have had the opportunity to ride and experience alot over time. I also have a German Shorthair dog, and two regular cats. I am looking to purchase my next "project" here very soon, any input would be great. Thanks!!!

Hi, Stephanie! Glad to see you here I'd be happy to go horse-shopping with you anytime - if you recall, we looked at horses together at the Paddock Sale at FP last year.

Hi there! I finally registered today even though I've been reading the posts for awhile. This board has helped so much with my boy. He's my first OTTB; a grey 8 year old gelding that I purchased last September named Dr. Ferrell aka Doc. I live in SE Michigan and currently board my horse - one day we hope to purchase a place with land so I can bring him home. Anyhow, I'm 25 and rode dilligently from when I was 5 until 13-14 years old. I rode western then (just trails or around the property mostly). Dabbled in barrels when I was a crazy kid - now I wonder how the hell I stayed on. Now I'm riding english and hope to get into the hunter ring with Doc eventually. I think he'll be ready before I am! In the mean time, we poke around the arena and have gone trailriding. Oh, and he's learned to bow. ;D He's highly food motivated! I will post pics as soon as I figure out how to!
