Hi all, I am finally doing this after lurking for a while. I just bought my first directly off the track tb a couple of weeks ago, so I have really appreciated reading the tips (training, buying, etc). I guess that I should add that things are going really well with her.

Hi, I'm Michelle, 38 and live in NH for now with Hubby, 2 dogs (Black Lab and Boxer Mix), and one horse22-23 Yr old Appendix QH Gelding). I ride for pleasure and love to trail ride, just switched to Western in 2007 after riding English my whole life. We are moving to West Virginia later this year, though I am having a tough time finding a boarding stable for Red. So, the location that we are moving to may change if I can't find boarding that is safe and nice. I was referred to the board by my Admin on another Pro-Board.
Looking forward to hopefully hearing from some West Virginia People.

Hi All, I arrived on Exracers in Jan, when a 7y/o OTTB, Mr. Paygo, came into my life. I've been spending lots of time with him and it's taken me until now to do an intro. I've been married to a great "computer" guy for 25yrs. We have 2 teen sons and live in a horse community. In addition to Paygo, we have a Morgan, a roan pony, 2 dogs and a few barn cats.
While, I've spent my life with horses, there are no real TB Race Tracks in NC and I never thought to go to a race in another State. I want to give Mr. Paygo the best care possible-as with all my animals- therefore I'm trying to educate myself on the life he lead on the track. It's turned into a fantastic study and I'm amazed at the level documentation the Jockey's Club keeps on the breed. Exracers also needs to be commended for being a source of support and a bridge that connects folks like myself with a better understanding of the TB Racing Industry. Cheers, ERider

Hello, My name is Holly, I am married and have two children (15 and 6)I work in Ohio at a TB race track. I rode Hunter Jumpers from 5years old-17yrs old and showed quite competitavely. Than nothing until I bought myself a QuarterHorse for my 40th birthday. My Daughter has an old Quarterhorse as well. We enjoy trail riding. Since then We have bought a 30 acre farm that needs tons of work:-) rescued 3 cats from the track, 2 mixed labs from local rescues. And now 2months ago, the love of my life... Major. He raced at Beulah, he is 8 years old. Just looking for some people who are as crazy about their animals as I am...looks like I found the right spot! They are tired of hearing about them in the office :-)

Hello
My name is Gretchen. I am 16 and will be a junior in high school. I lease a thoroughbred, Bub, whom i use to show in 4-H in most English style classes and lots of jumping classes. I also have a 3 year old boxer, Tonka, and a 15 year old cat, Rascal. Other things I enjoy besides horses(about 90% of my free time) are fashion, traveling, listening to music, reading, sometimes making art, and spending time with my friends and family. I joined this forum because i have a thoroughbred and would like find ways to learn more about his past-he has a lip tattoo i just need to figure out if i am willing to suck it up and pay the jockey club for the info- and also to be able to share and learn about all of our horses/training/showing.
I can't wait to get to know y'all.

Hi, I'm Jessica and I'm from NC. I'm 29 years old, married, and we are expecting our first baby around June 18. I am a fifth grade teacher and am also finishing up coursework towards a doctorate in educ. psychology. I've grown up around horses, though I started out riding quarter horses. My mom had an OTTB mare for many years and she was very high strung and when I was a kid I thought I'd never want to deal with that hot of a horse, hehehe. Fast forward many years later and I got my first TB three years ago. He's a rescue, but didn't race, and he really enjoys going out for leisurely trail rides, but also likes to strut his stuff in local shows. Last summer, I decided to rescue another TB, one that was just off the track. I had him shipped to me from Indiana and have been in love since he got to our farm. He is simply a delightful horse with the best personality I have ever known. I was so excited when I found this forum...there seems to be a ton of great information on here!
