Hi all ! - Phew! I finally made it ! Little H here, battling my way through from right across tne pond in Yorkshire, England. (Had just a few small problems registering..... Thanks for your help, Goalie. I got here in the end - but like I said, late again, as usual.) I heard about you through our Ex-Racers Club over here, when Goalie and Bara made contact. I think it's wonderful that there are so many of us out in the big wide world, all doing what we can to help ex-racers. It will be great to swap ideas. Right now I'm really interested in your CANTER - we don't have anything quite like that over here in UK. NOT YET, anyway... but it's got me thinking....! I have three ex-racers - Dara, a 7-year-old dark bay gelding, who raced 8 times on the flat and over hurdles, and came last almost every time; Miraed, an almost-black bay mare, who is from the same family Arkle but the similarity stops there ; and then Big H , ( really big - 17.2 hands) who was foaled in New Zealand, won a lot on the flat, then was imported to UK for lots of money, raced over hurdlles and steeplechase fences - and just got worse and worse. Eventually, 2 years ago, he was sold for 500 guineas ( about $800 ) at Doncaster Bloodstock Sales to ME ! He's a real gentleman, and his travels are over . Dara has had a lot of health problems since I got him so although he's riding quite nicely now we keep having soundness setbacks . H has had lots of problems with his feet, and still isn't totally right, but he's now much improved and schooling quietly. Miraed, though, after a couple of years of struggle and arguments has finally come good and last year did really well in riding horse classes.

A big hello from across the pond!! I'm from Wiltshire, England (not far from Stonehenge and Bath) and have one exracer and a shetland pony I have Archie who is an ex point-to-pointer/hurdler, never did alot but didnt come out of racing untill he was 15 which was when I got him. Haven't done alot with him tbh with his need to keep injuring himself and changing saddle sizes!! But hopefully this will be our year My shetland is called Jacko, I've had him since I was 3 and he was 5... hes now 23 and still as naughty as ever!! ;D

Whooops! All these fab new people from both sides of the pond! Hi - I'm Bara, a Brit, but long-standing member of the US ExRacers. Goalie, Deb and I are being made very welcome over on 'my' side of the pond. Yes, it's great to know that so many people share the same interest. I think the big thing is that both sites share a 'tolerant' view of discussion rather than argument. Pictures, pictures, all of you, Americans and British!

I have been here for a few years.. lol 18 in the test barn alone . I have worked at race tracks from Vermont to Fla and west.. I have two daughters. one in Washington State and one here. four grandkids. three in Washington and one here.. My daughter Gina has her trainers license at Mountaineer and both have shown in 4H . Gina also gallops and ponys . My dad and brother both trained race horses . I have shown qh and appys . also I have worked with running qh's which was alot of fun I am horseless for the moment but am thinking of adopting a standardbred in the spring.. I am interested in Driving.. I have worked standardbred sales and they are fun horses.. but a friend as an ottb she uses as a pony horse and is willing to let me have him.. so I have a lot of decisions to make.. I show my dogs in agility and obedience.. even putting titles on a whippet which was fun to do.. I am not sure when i can use this computer again . but I do lurk and read everything in the forums.. waves at jenarby and little Miss Hannah..

Hi, I am kinda new. I had joined exracers before but then had issues logging in for the longest time (was there a website problem?). It has been a long time since I have been on this website.
But anyways, I have a 15 yr old ottb gelding, named Tyler, his registered name is Sugar Draz, Smile is his sire. I absolutely adore him, he is very cute, sweet and smart. We mostly trail ride and do a little dressage. This website is a great wealth of knowledge and support, I am glad to get back to it.
Thanks.
