;D
In my case, it must have been about 10 years ago. I was on a site called 'Horse Forum' looking for advice on Navicular (Edgie.)
A few of the girls on there were also on here. So thanks for telling me about Exracers!
Not a moment too soon as HF was trolled badly and closed down. But by then, those 'in the know' were already practically living here.
And you?

When Mak got his exracer, he went looking for message boards and found you guys. He's since lost interest in horses, but I'm hooked =)

I'd bumbled into a different board 10 years ago--Haynet, I think? And kindly people like Smay told me how this online stuff worked and showed me how to follow the moves from one board to another, finally leading me here. I was certain I'd never get the hang of it! Originally, I was just killing time looking around the internet waiting for my broken hand to heal. (Yes, it was horse-related!)

creepy old time here--When the interwebs finally went all graphic-ee instead of DOS-ee, there was a website that sold exrace horses called www.horsesales.comThey had a bulletin board attached to it that I used to read (back in 1996?). Several iterations later, here we are

I'm not sure if I found a link somewhere or did a search. I remember the old board though. It was a lot like the All TB classifieds site. It went really fast and I was constantly losing track of threads I was interested in. It was a nice change to move to the current board.

Like Luci, I goggled everything OTTB and bone chips. My last horse had the surgery to remove them from his left knee but developed arthritis so bad we just couldn't get him sound.

Oh my, it's so ancient I can't even remember! I was on several other sites (Agrimall? Horsenet?) where Smay, Vida, Ad, Keely, Zen etc...used to hang out as well, my guess is that Smay, our good shepherd dog, brought me on here when the other sites disappeared!
What got me started on the Horse forums thing was the death of my little Morgan mare. I was so devastated, I looked on the internet for comfort, since most people around me don't get how heart wrenching it is to lose your once-in-a-lifetime horse. How sad is that, uh?! So I started posting on a Morgan forum, and I think Smay lured me over to the Tb forums! And then, coincidentally, a friend (Nancy) bought a little mare at the track (Rita), sold her to me, and I never looked back!
The internet is a great source.
Just yesterday, I watched You Tube videos of Charm's great-grand daddy (Northern Dancer) winning the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, another great-grand daddy (Gallant Man) winning the Travers stakes, and her grand-daddy (The Minstrel) winning the Epsom Derby and King George. Charm looks so much like Northern Dancer (in a feminine sort of way), it's amazing! Like his son The Minstrel, he was only 15h...he won against tall, long-legged horses, too! Go little ones, go!
