ClaireLv and RacetrackRejects have said they would like to put together a video of all of our beloved horses that we have lost in the exracer family. I am going to stick this on top of the board and then Claire and RR can tell you what they need from us to make it happen. I think this is a very touching gift they are offering to give us. Thank you ladies.
I would like to include my boys in it for sure and also Dakotagirl if we are allowed to put our other beloved animals in it too.

I guess we would need to start with a saying/song/poem that we would like to use and decide on background music (or not). The bones of the matter if you will.
I'm guessing we want to mix color and black and white photos?

I think black and white photos and color would be good if possible.

Def background music and a saying or poem, but I sure don't want to be the one to pick it! Can we just steal the whole thing from COTH? hahaha

I don't think we have to pick just one saying or poem. I think that we could group photos to go with different ones if short or make series of photos to go with longer ones, but these are things we need to discuss and maybe vote on.
I found a great saying today that might be appropriate to go at the end or beginning.
Finis vitae sed non amoris which is latin for "the end of life but not of love"

Nice idea. Possible music might be old Beatles stuff like "In My Life," or "If I Fell," or "Here, There and Everywhere." Pretty tunes, and there are nice instrumental versions of these melodies, if you wanted to skip lyrics."

Someone on COTH just sent me this poem....I cried while reading it....beautiful. I'd never read it before:
I'll lend you for a little while My grandest foal, He said. For you to love while he's alive And mourn for when he's dead. It may be one or twenty years, Or days or months, you see. *_But, will you, till I take him back Take care of him for me?_* He'll bring his *charms* to gladden you, And should his stay be brief You'll have treasured memories As solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, Since all from earth return, But, there are lessons taught on earth I want this foal to learn. _I've looked the wide world over In my search for teachers true. And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes With trust I have selected you._ Now will you give him your total love? Nor think the labor vain, Nor hate Me when I come To take him back again? I know you'll give him tenderness And love will bloom each day. And for the happiness you've known Forever grateful stay. But should I come and call for him Much sooner than you'd planned You'll brave the bitter grief that comes And someday you'll understand. For though I'll call him home to Me This promise to you I do make For all the love and care you gave He'll wait for you, inside Heaven's Gate.

Thanks for the sticky Goalie! Yes we need to decide on the music. I love "In My Life" Ad! Lets get a few suggestions and then we can all vote. Please post the pics you would like to use too. Here is a video I made a few years ago after Charlie died. Its video rather than stills but you get the idea. Many of you will remember Charlie. He was pretty much an ER dog since I got him shortly after the big Rolex meet up (to prevent Amy from trying to steal me any more Jack Russells LOL). Michelle (Einstein) picked the breed I should get (I never would have chosen a maltese but she was so right on) and Amy named him! He was 10 when we picked him up from a rescue and he was very sickly with thyroid, a heart murmer, a massive ear infection and allergies. He lived with us for 4 years (met many exracers including flying to meet Amy and Corgi) and finally succumbed to cancer at age 14. files.me.com/clairedavies/hphj9u.movSome of you will know that I recently took on my 4th maltese. Originally this was just going to be a foster but of course she's staying... Snowflake is at least ten and was a stray turned in to rescue with mammary tumors and other health problems. The rescue took care of the tumors but the cancer looks to have spread to her lymphatic system. Snowflake reminds me so much of Charlie. MTA I'm not sure if the link is working... let me work on it a while. Let me know.

Claire, your video worked just fine. Tess sat on my lap and watched it, too! What an incredibly sweet dog, your Charlie.

I love all those ideas! Of course my all time favorite poem is the now famous Stanley Harrison poem "somewhere, somewhere. . .in time's own space, there must be some sweet pastured place;..." EVERY SINGLE TIME I read that, and think of any horse I've owned, it's all over! Loff that poem. And the Beatles tunes go great with all these suggestions.
