I also like this one by Ronald Duncan "Where in the wide world can man find nobility without pride, friendship without envy, or beauty without vanity? Here, where grace is laced with muscle and strength by gentleness confined."

OOhh.. I love that first one SMay. This page has tons of quotes. www.quotegarden.com/horses.htmlI had thought that if somone had a brief quote, we could put that on their picture specifically and the rest of the pictures we could maybe divide stanzas up to go with them, but idk. Just tossing some ideas out. I like the idea of an instrumental of a Beatles song too. They have some great ones.

Yah, like the COTH one, where they put several pictures up for each stanza. Are poems divided into stanzas? Or is that music? Or what? I'm so confuseled. I need adcooper to explain it.

I know nuthin bout music, but I think stanzas in music are the same as verses in poetry, which are also called stanzas, I think, maybe.
PS love both of those literary references, Suzy. "...strength by gentleness confined..." that's what I love about horses.

So I think we should start putting our pics on this thread so the ladies can start organizing them.
One other idea I have and want to see wht you all think of it, is can we also include our dear exracer family member NancyL? I think of Nancy so often that I think it would be a fitting tribute for her also.

Here's a pic of Toby aka Knight's Agenda. Sabovee might want to add a shot of him too. Formal Raise aka "Maverick" (Michelle is riding in this one) Assumed Risk (that is Sabovee riding so she'll have to approve the pic) I have a few more if that's ok. Horses I've sold or given away that have passed this year or last....

Aww geez, both those pictures of Murphy are super sweet Jenarby! The one with Hannah should DEFINITELY be used with the line: "strength by gentleness confined." Going to find my favs now.

Terrie, that pic of Eagle and Martha sleeping together is one of my favorites. This is one of the only pics I have of Martha during the short time he was with me. But I love the look on his face. I remember that day and we had just had a really good ride at a friend's place. I swear he was telling where to scratch next!
