Well, I'll finish Book 7 tonight. My complaints were minor and quickly overshadowed by the good story she just keeps telling.
Rats. How long will we have to wait for the next one?

I was "told " 3 years by people in the know...three long years...*sigh* !
If you are really an addict you can go on the author's website, where she posts excerpts etc. of her future book. I don't like to do that tho, it's like eating ice cream before the main meal...lol

Well, she does leave some characters in limbo! Three years is a long time for that sort of suspense. And I am not buying Claire's responses and behavior toward the end of this book. Convenient for drama, but not likely for this particular heroine as I've "known" her. (Do you see how carefully I am trying not to spoil the story for any other readers.)
I don't want to see the excerpts, but I do wonder how badly I've been mispronouncing the Gaelic in my imagination. Any glossary help on her website?

Here ya go: www.museangel.net/speak.html#GaelicI was disappointed in the end, but from what I've read online she was trying to make it perfectly clear that this was NOT the last book. I was shocked at Claire at the end of this book. I guess it is pretty safe to say I'm just not a fan of the whole book- I felt it was slooowww and then the last 100 pages were rushed. The excerpts are nothing to give the next story away believe me! They are like a paragraph.

I'm on book 6. When I finish 7, what the heck am I going to do!? I realized the other day that I have been reading nothing but the Outlander series since the beginning of February. Unreal and bizarre!

Re read them!!!!! LOL! Nothing compares to Outlander so it is hard to read anything else. I'm going through like my 3rd time reading the series and I read them for the first time in the beginning of March. I just can't stop. It is sad, really...

Hang on, you like this series more than Harry Potter or Twilight?? I haven't read any of the Outlander series yet. I've been stuck muddling through the George RR Martin series. I have another series on deck after this one. If these Outlander books are this good I may have to read them first.

abowls, go directly to the library. Request the first book, Outlander. Get back to us in 90 pages.
Sorry, I can't help it. I'm a librarian. I just checked the catalog of the Loudoun County Library, which owns 7 copies--4 are checked out, 2 are on hold and 1 is lost. The Lovettsville copy was due yesterday, so SOMEone is definitely going to have to read fast or pay the consequences/fine! You can't be kept waiting forever, now.
You'll like the series. Harry Potter and Twilight are kids' books, so this will be a little different, but you'll like the fast pace of the stories.

LOL ok ad I'll just have to go and buy it. I looked and it's a cheap book. If I'm going to want to re-read over and over it's probably better if I have my own copy anyway. I'll get it this weekend.

OK I went and got Outlander yesterday and I'm about 60 pages into it. I can't say that I'm completely hooked yet but I think she was just "transported" back in time and it's going to get good now. All these exracers can't be wrong ;D.

LOL I was learner Scot's Gaelic about 12 -15 years ago - Gàidhlig It wasn't easy and I am not that good. There are some sites that you can google to help. I have a few language books if you need help.

I think the next time I read one of her books, I'll bookmark a pronunciation site so I can look up words as I go.
