I thought I started this thread a couple of days ago, but can't find it now. Anyway.... Whatcha reading for escapist fun this winter? (No profound literature allowed!) I just found some books by Shirley Damsgaard. First one is "Witch Way to Murder," wherein the heroine is a psychic librarian. ;D

When traveling on airplanes I tend to turn to fluff reading to entertain me easily. I picked up "The Other Boleyn Girl" on a recent trip and that did the trick. I have also been on a bit of a fantasy genre binge for some reason...I think I am enticed by the very long, multi-tome serial nature of a lot of the fantasy stuff. That, and I like anything with a dragon in it I am in the middle of George R R Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" series.

Define Profound Literature? I'm thoroughly enjoying the latest Ken Follet (World without end) right now, and before that I read Son of a Witch and B. Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer. When in airports or on planes I like those Clive Cussler, D. Baldacci, Koontz and other thriller/mystery novels.

I finished that series, well at least until the finishes writing the last of the series! I hate reading a really good series that isn't finished being written. Hey, E, if you want, I have some awesome suggestions including the Compass series but I seem to recall that you read that already? LMK and I'll give you a list of authors to try.

I just got a new one called " Rhett Butler's People" by Donald McCaig. It's the story of his family, it was authorized by the Michell family. I hope it's good.

I loved Prodigal Summer. For some reason that book is among my favorites.
I have Loving Frank, The abstinence Teacher, and three more that I can't think of right now....hmm.....maybe I should dig one out.

I think some of you need to look up "fluff" in your dictionaries. Perhaps I should have said "pulp."

Did you read the Carolyn Banks books? Murder and dressage and very much fluff. Death on the Diagonal. I had to ILL them so haven't read them all yet, but they're fun.
MTA I want to read your psychic librarian but will have to ILL those too... that means waiting, bah!

Bill Bryson isn't 'fluff'?? Popular. Humorous. But not technically fluff. Someone mail Bara a Nora Roberts paperback so she'll see what we mean. ;D
