I'll have to go with Barbero since he's from PA. Haven't really followed any horses for the Derby. BUT did you see Churchill is selling mint juleps for A THOUSAND DOLLARS The money is going for retirement of ex-racers. :daisy: I would say that is MONEY WELL SPENT  We should invest in one :sun: :sun:

Barbaro Barbaro Barbaro! I HEART Michael Matz - the highlight of my young h/j years was trying out one of his ponies for another kid at my barn. It was like meeting Charlie Watts or Mick Jagger or something. He is one cool guy...

No idea. I like to see how they look jogging out to the gate before picking a favorite. Too much can influence them between now and then.
About Dynaformer...I saw him when I was touring stud farms a few years ago. He is spectacular, but vicious. He's bitten off grooms' fingers and I pity the poor mares bred to him.

Corgi, I'm with you with Barbaro. There is a thread on COTH about how Michael Matz helped saved people from United Flight 232 when in crashed in Souix City, Iowa. He was on it, and an article was written by a then 12 year old girl who MM and his wife helped, along with her two brothers. It is amazing. He is an amazing guy! So, I'm rooting for Barbaro!

Lots of photos of the Derby hopefuls up on Yahoo. sports.yahoo.com/rah/galleryI notice in all the photos of Lawyer Ron, he has a lip chain on in all of them (even bath time). Wonder if he is that much of a handful that he needs it all the time?
