I e-mailed Third Coast Eventers about CANTER TX, and Amy McCauley, the out-going President (they are doing changeover now), e-mailed me back saying that they are going to put a link on their website to CANTER TX and maybe put a blurb on their about it. They are based near Austin and have members from all areas of Texas. Amy also said that she would pass the word and try to get people that are looking to send in a horses wanted list. I have not heard back from GHCTA or NTCTA yet, but I just sent an e-mail to them. I'm also going to e-mail trainers that I know with Eventing barns about it, but besides getting the word out, what can someone who is not very close to the action do?

but besides getting the word out, what can someone who is not very close to the action do? Your best bet if you would like to make an organized effort at volunteering would be to contact the Exec. Director (I don't have the email handy, but it is now listed on the website - www.canterusa.org ). There is a TON you can do without being anywhere near the track, or even in the same state. Thanks for wanting to help!

Hi!
I'm Lynn Rorke, the Exec Dir for CANTER of Texas. WOW! THANKS so much for all your efforts for CANTER of TEXAS. Johnnie, you are just terrific and I would really like to talk to you more about how you can help. I actually live in Austin, so 3 hours away from the "action" is not that far to me!
I would like to send some press release info and so on to the folks you have contacted already. You can email me at cantertx@canterusa.org.
Our first "photo" session on the backside will be Feb 22 -- but we actively compiling a "horses wanted" list and would like to circulate that as early as possible.
We are really excited, because we have had such a warm reception already (and we have barely started!).
Thanks again, and please email me.....
