Wow, great pics. Niaru do you remember the first photos you posted of Rita when she was really thin way back? Look at the difference in the these with her muscling and weight. She was a very put together gal, and gutsy judging from these photos. I had a horse jump up out of the water like that once but there was no jump in front of him! You made a good team.

This is just too sad. What was Rita's registered name? She looks sooooooo much like a mare I used to take care of that ended up at Mountaineer and then fell off the map as far as racing goes.

I love the pictures. I still htink she has the sweetest head and face. The second to last picture is my favorite....so much happiness in both of your faces. How long did you have her? I can't remember.

I'm so happy Rita can be seen by all for what she was, athletic, willing (gutsy, yes!), such a great little partner.

Keely and Lynne, her reg. name was Rita's Rico, Muy Rico x Indian Ladd. Nancy bought her at the track in the fall of 2000 and I started riding (and liking, then loving) her right away, and I bought her from Nancy in June 2001. Of course I was hoping we'd spend YEARS together...sigh.
