EA was awesome!! I didn't get back home until 1:30AM. We had so much fun. Bruce Davidson was
awesome, and we were able to make it to all of his
clinics. He worked on alot of Dressage stuff, and his
lecture on starting horses was incredibly interesting
(not to mention the funny stories he had to tell). We
met Peter Stone, and each got an autographed horse
from him and took pictures with him. He was such a
sweet man. He invited the Pony Club to a big model
horse show they are having in Mesquite in July. The Houston
Police Department also invited the Pony Club to check
out their facilities, and meet their horses and
trainers. Then VTO ( tack store) said that we should come and see
them because they have a backroom at their store
called "The Attic" that has amazing deals
one-of-a-kind items and store closeouts from other
stores. They also said that if the Pony Club wanted
to come, to let them know in advance and they would
have refreshments and stuff for us. We met a
lady who does therapy using mini horses. The horses
will even get in the hospital beds and lay down with
the patients! We saw an Animal Communicator demo, but
we weren't really impressed with her too much (and I'm not really a skeptic). The
best part was the Night of Enchantment show (where we
ran into some of the Pony Clubbers with their families and they begged to sit with us). That thing was amazing. Pam Grace Fowler was awesome
on her retired Dressage horse -A 20 year old bay leopard Appy, Pay N Go. She was having so much
fun with him, and her freestyle was beautiful. My friend and I both cried. The canter pirourettes were amazing, and they had gorgeous flowing tempis. It was awesome watching her since she is always judging Dressage at one of the events we go to, and she is such a sweet lady. There were also some demos to music put on by Martha Josey, who rode bridleless, to patriotic music, a reiner guy, also bridleless, to "Singing in the Rain", the Vaulting Team, and some of the WEG driving team. After that the Arabian Nights show started with the Black Stallion. It was great. My friend Connie cried the whole time they were in the arena. She's the one who lost her 20 year old Arabian gelding last year. I hope to have some photos today to put up on Webshots.
