:)I've heard they are the firecrackers of the equine world, but they ARE the prettiest! Don't ya'll think that the chestnut mare myths are false? I don't know for sure cause I never had a chestnut mare!

I gotta laff over this firecracker thing. I honestly didn't have a clue when I bought her but someone in our shop the other day was talking about the colour of her mane. "Oh yes" I replied... it is so pretty, a bit of black, a bit of white..... they just looked at me and laffed.... and then told me that they bred that into them and those ones are the ones that GO!!!!!!
Anyway, we had a couple of hours together yesterday, I took her down the driveway, we have a loooooong driveway, to graze on the yummy grass down there. She was like a filly at the saleyards on the way down... so I made her walk up and down a few times till she was grazing and taking it pretty easy. She still got skittery at the end of the driveway near the road. I don't know if it was the fact that I had shut the gate or what....
When I let her out of the halter now she follows me around the paddock like a puppy. Nudging me for a scratch. Hubby and I are going to have a go at the saddle next week. I will talk to her and hold her while he puts it on her s-l-o-w. She will be ready again for her bridle next week, her head is mending well.... she will let me know if this is all too quick and I am not going to argue with her. Gentle persuasion is better I guess.
Off to work again... gosh it's 6am here - I am up way too early, it's called to stafford dogs and a cat jumping into bed with me.
Have a good one, Bindi.

She is very pretty.
Actually, that chestnut mare myth was written about Dancer's mom LOL! Kidding aside, when Misty was good she was very, very good, but when she was bad...
And funny, the farm that stood her sire said the same thing about him...
But she was one of the best horses I have ever had the privledge to be allowed to sit on (and Misty did allow you to sit on her or else you would not be there!).
Have fun with Lily!
