Was looking through my horse herbal books to see what would be good to give a horse with a skin thing going on. Obviously it's an internal thing after the stresses of what Porter's been through but the one product that kept popping up was kelp. It's supposedly the best all round aid to skin condition. You can find it in one of the Source products (I think they're micronutrients) and there's also another called Kelpmate. I think CC clued me into kelp a couple of years ago when Mikhail was dull and it really pepped him up. It's the mixture of iodine and all those micronutrients. I eat lots of seaweed (sushi - yum!) when I'm feeling tired too and it always makes me feel good.

Thanks Vida! I think part of the problem is his b;anket, he didn't grow any hair and has on a Rambo with the neck, and it seems to dry him out, if that can be.
I've always heard Source was a great product, so maybe I'll try that ;D I was kinda hoping after 4 months on the mend I would see an improvement in coat quality, but I really haven't. Although I can see it in his hoofs, the lines/indents are growing out.

O!! We have our horses on a Sea Kelp supp. It's not Source, it is that exactly, but 35 dollars a bag, and the bag lasts 4 horses longer than 4 months (we're only 2/3rds of the way into the bag)... Same ingredients. I believe its made somewhere on the coast of Maine. I can check and get back to you if youre interested.
