I only clean my guys twice a year at the most. Spring and fall. My Vet agrees less is more in this regard as more horses get infections from being cleaned too often than not. Main thing to check for is the bean. The waxy stuff actually takes care of itself for the most part.

If the waxy stuff takes care of itself, then Grace will be fine. I dont think I'll have a problem if I need to - he gets veeeery relaxed even if I just rub or brush him on the belly. Then again, he gets very relaxed when he's fed, very relaxed when he walks up to me, very relaxed when he's hanging out with his buddy...

Diego always gets beans and he walks around for a day sore after he is cleaned..... The other boys aren't as bad.. Again I let the vet do is duty and we relax the boys with meds.....

Hee hee, you guys have rough time. I get the opposite with Vance and Eagle who loooovvvvve having their noodles cleaned and couldn't care less when I look for the beanies. Vance likes to eat the crud from his 'pee-pee' and Eagle sometimes raises a back leg over me which is when I scat quickly yelling 'noooooo'! Mikhail takes a little more caressing to get him to comply!
