Has anyone had any experience with this??
I was talking to a man in my shop the other day and he was telling me about his neice that does equine bowen therapy.
Anyway, I have never heard of it but for some reason I asked him to get his neice to phone me. She rang tonight and is passing thru this Sunday and is coming to see us... YAHOOOOOOOO... someone in NZ is willing to listen to me and my wacky ideas. She is doing one treatment this Sunday and one the following Sunday. This is just so wonderful - I am so excited that someone is coming to work with us.
Has anyone tried this out with their horses??? She also does herbal remedies - I am really into this kind of thing for me so to do it with Lily seems so natural.

it started in Australia. From what I can gather it is working on horses with touch and massage, and apparently after two or three sessions it can really help alsorts of problems. I actually had it done on me, when I lived in Aussie they were developing it to use with humans.
I have copied the below from a website, sounds interesting...
So What Exactly Is Equine Muscle Release Therapy Ô?
EMRT Ô is a very dynamic technique, which signals the brain to initiate the healing process. These signals are sent via specialised nerve cells found in the fascia or covering of the muscle. By applying the moves over the muscles in specific areas in a sequence, the body receives the message to take the spasm out of that muscle. This gives the body a chance to achieve balance that promotes well-being of the whole horse. EMRT Ô is not a replacement for Veterinary advice.
It consists of gentle rolling, sequential moves over specific points of the muscular fascia. Energy flows are stimulated & balanced, encouraging the body to reset & heal itself, producing rapid & lasting relief from pain & discomfort.
Non-invasive & non-manipulative, EMRT Ô helps bring about a positive response to muscular, respiratory, organic & glandular conditions. It is an ideal way to help the body function at an optimal level of health & efficiency & can be used as a preventative in the same way that sports massage is used by athletes.
Equine Muscle Release Therapy can be used in conjunction with & complements other healing modalities, such as herbal medicine, as it activates the body’s powerful natural self-healing ability.
How does it work?
What sort of problems can EMRT (tm) help with?

It almost sounds similar to something they started in New Zealand called "Equine Touch Therapy". I JUST read about it a few days ago. I do all kinds of natural things with all my animals too. I used to work with people years ago, and have always worked with my animals and other's animals when they've asked. I use herbs, homeopathics, essential oils, hands on therapies, whatever the situation calls for. I use them because they work, and several of my animals are here today because of them. (this isnt a job, just the way I choose to take care of all of us. ) It's amazing the way that the animals respond, especially to touch therapies. They really recognize that it's helping. Please keep us up to date on how it goes, I'm really interested in hearing!
