I don't know what took me so long to find this place...but I am soo glad I did. My last boarding place was nice until it was bought. A bunch of us gave them almost a year to change things for the better and then we all looked for a place to go to...got tired of the excuses and the lack of concern of the horses (11 of horses left the barn in one week if that gives you an idea of how crappy it got). So I finally found a private barn with a nice lady with her two horses. I am the only boarder. At first this seemed wierd to me as I have always been in big barns..but now I am loving it! ;D
I found a brand new leather halter on my horses stall. She said that Ami's other halter should have been removed when out in the pasture...it wasn't so when she broke one of the snaps she went out and bought me one. SAY WHAAAT??? ;D (she was introducing horses...and the halters were on for safety issues in case things got out of hand..I totally understood)
Every time my horses get a scrape she cleans and medicates it and calls me. WOOHOOO! Someone actually notices that my horse has a problem (last barn left a piece of barbed wire in my horses foot for over 24 hours!)
She told me she was concerned about Mattie's weight loss (she weighs them monthly)....so she upped her hay and oats but wanted to add some rice bran...would that be okay? I offered to pay for it as it is extra and she said it was included...WOW!! And today I go out there and she is making sure that Mattie's Ca/Phos ratio is correct with the addition of the rice bran. Is this place for real?
She also bought me a new fly spray bottle, fly mask and can with brush for Koppertox. Offered to pay..she said no.
I am honestly just amazed that someone is as anal as I am about my girls. I feel totally unstressed about my girls in her care..which is really unusual with me as I am a worry wart and a control freak. I am happier...the girls are happier...and the price is the same. Sometimes I am just amazed. Just had to share with people who would understand how nice it is to have a great place to board.
My friends at work just don't understand how important it is.

Things look a lot better with a layer of fresh snow over every thing. Now, even if there is food out there, a lot of times the horses arent touching it, and instead wait for us to show up and then scarf down what we put out there.
