I have filly out of Sammy Frosty and a colt out of Pharm's Jillian so far! ;D Now I've got to come up with names. Will try to take pics Thursday evening after work (if it's not raining ). Can't tomorrow as I have meeting to go to in KC with the boss and leave at dawn & get back at dusk (yuck). I have my second interview for the other job next week; I sure hope I get it as this job is turning out to be what someone here on the board pointed out what might happen. It was supposed to be forty hours a week & now I'm on call for weekends (it's a salaried position) for 3 weeks out of 4. Not a happening thing, I have a life (well, sort of a life but I need time to spend with my horsies & that has been in short supply lately ). At least I didn't quit my agency job so I can go back to it.

Been busy at your barn. ;D Congrats on the new additions to your family. I too am finding too little time to spend with the horses. Sigh, seems I'm back to weekends, but am still trying to figure out how I can get a day or two during the week in.

Anxiously awaiting the pictures! This is such fun! Auntie Cypress suggests the filly be named Silly Ann (rhymes with Jillian, sort of, and makes fun of me. I swear, that mare is so mean!) Thanks for the happy news.

Congrats! Did you breed Carnival Lil for this year?
For those who don't know, Lil and Carambi have the same sire.

Lil was bred to our quarter horse stallion (we have 6 foals so far this year by him, 5 palominos & one dun/buckskin, that's 63 colored foals out of 65 so far) and aborted twins in November . This is the 2nd time in two years she's aborted twins & the University didn't see them. On a good note, they did see Kako's & pinched one off.

Oh, I would love to see an appendix QH with Northern Dancer lines! Are you going to try her again?
My appendix's dam (TB) delivered twins her first breeding (she was 6 yrs. old-this was in 1981 and she had been bred to a TB). One was stillborn and the other only lived 3 days. 6 years later, I decided to breed her again to my cousin's QH stallion. First breeding (she was bred, waited a day, teased the third day and was receptive so she was covered again) produced twins which were picked up on an early ultrasound. Vet pinched one but she aborted the other.
Brought her back into season and covered her one time, one day only-viola-one embryo-which was Dancer!
Maybe trying one cover only would work for Lil also? Of course, I have zilch breeding experience except for Dancer!
