Hey.. I found his pedigree.. How do you find out where the sire and dam are? Just curious.. Grabruck has no offspring on record, neither does Katy torch. Buddy was their only (accidental foal). A few years ago when I called the USTA they said there was a foal on record, had a tattoo number and all, but it was never issued... I didn't want to pay the $500 to register him cuz wasn't gonna race. Now I'm wishing I would have so I could track him down! Near as I can figure, Blowtorch is standing in California, no stats that I can find on Grabuck without access to the SC system right now, but seems he was in Ohio...not gonna stake my life on that though. Not sure about the USTA, but Standardbred Canada has records on all ownerships of all horses dating back to 1972, every transfer is recorded, and for a fee, anyone can get these stats, as well as any and all matings that were recorded by the owner of the brood stock, even if the mating did not produce a live foal; a breeder is required to submit a stallion and mare report to the office (both) but as of right now, SC has the full data base for everything; USTA is still limited in resources - this is being worked on.
Registering a horse is not a guarantee that you can find out who has him, as not everyone transfers ownership, particularly if the new owner is not a USTA or SC member. We are probably the only breed registry that requires owners to become members of the governing body.
