Land Rover Has taken top sponsor spot from Rolex. Rolex is still the official time piece of the Kentucky Three Day.

Actually, it's actual name was not the Rolex, it's just they have had the top sponsor position for so long and the Rolex name on everything, that it became casually known as the Rolex. It's actually The Kentucky Three Day Event Which created some merchandise licensing debate over the years. Perhaps some resentment from some Kentuckians as well.
As for me, the more commercial it became it lost a lot of it's earlier years flavor that put a larger focus on the horses and riders. Having other advanced levels and far more competitors and a lot less down time. Now it's geared at getting people back to the concessionaires and spending more money, even on Cross Country Day. Keeping people longer on stadium day with later start times and a long lunch break.
