Thanks Bara. Hmmmm... Is that actually a way of saying Britain's become glad they lost that one?

For me I always looked forward to the fireworks. But now not so much. The fire danger is high here but they still allow people to have them at home.
It also is the time (7/2) when my Father passed way. It's been 15 years, you'd think it wouldn't bother so much but this morning I woke up right at 7:02am when he died.

Yes, I was thankful that it was raining last night. Still had people shooting them off, but it wasn't too bad and at least things were wet. Sorry for your loss...it's especially hard when the loss is around a holiday...painful reminders of what should be joyful times.

The consensus at the barn I board at was, if we need to see fireworks, we'd rather watch the professional ones the towns put off, then waste our money on fireworks. Though illegal for sale/use in Illinois, they are readily available in Indiana. Unless they catch you at the boarder smuggling them in or someone gets hurt, they are largely ignored. As it is, unless you spend thousands of dollars, the professional shows are way better. Hell, even if you spent thousands of dollars their shows are still better. Let's face it, fireworks were a lot more fun when you are a kid.
Though it's been dry this week, it's been so wet, no worries there. Of course, that's also why they couldn't bring in the other half of the hay field without risking mold and other issues. Neighbor tried, but only did about half of what he wanted to for the same reason. Needed about two more days of dry. It's been crazy wet.
Brooks, that is crazy.

I think Bara is hinting there should be a comma in your last sentence Brooks.
