I've had good luck with milk jugs, but Beau annihilates them. While he always used to have the I-can-take-it-or-leave-it attitude towards cribbing, being next to a cribber for a year has, unfortunately, left him taking more than leaving it Even with the fleece, the miracle collar's been bothering him a bit, and I still can't figure out the nutcracker quite right. I've thought of taking on the cause and giving him something, hopefully a bit beefier than the milk jugs. Has anyone tried a Mastiff/Great Dane/St. Bernard-sized Kong toy (I figure those are closer to small horses than large dogs anyway)? And is peanut butter horse safe? I wanted to get him one of the other toys but they're hard plastic and I don't want him hurting himself on that in the stall. Yes, he had hard plastic toys before, the apple and the Likit holder, but those hung from the ceiling. I'm thinking of it, does anyone see any safety hazards? No, I don't think that's too ironic, asking about safety after he had CHOKE from snarfing down beet pulp...we took out a chunk the size of my thumbnail This was my welcome to the world of Exotic Crap you have to call the vet for without the luxury of splitting the charge of the visit. Yes, he really is my horse; he wolfs down food like his mommy. I now wonder if I shouldn't investigate a human grazing muzzle for myself the next time I bolt down dinner.

Even the large Kong toy might be too small for a horse leading to a choke hazard. There are toys made that you can put horse treats in that they have to roll around to get the treats out that might work better. As it is, life with a cribber can be a challenge. good luck with Beau.
