So I decided I shouldn't be wasting money on dog-groomers, but she's a long-haired dog. I'm a pensioner now, but she's a long haired dog... So I ordered a 'dog grooming kit' - dear old Amazon. Having trapped her in a room, I got to work with the hairbrush and scissors. Bum, elbows, legs, tail, tummy, behind the ears - YOU know. She's doing the 'whipped cur' thang. All tucked in; soulful eyes; nose against the door... I haven't even STARTED with the clippers, yet! Deal with it, Alexis...

Now for Captain Jack, You only have to show him the grooming brush and he gives that sad look that Only a hound dog can give. He would much rather have the cat Missy groom him. She is happy to clean his face for hours.

Winter loved being brushed, tolerated his nails clipped (I'd do that with him laying down), never used clippers on his coat. Only time he'd give the ,why are you doing this to me look?, would be bath time. Best of luck with your grooming venture.

You obviously brought Winter up well, Zen.
Zen - Winter is missed.
Terrie, I just have to say the word 'brush' and madame slinks off. Why??! It makes for fun when people visit and she's being annoyingly friendly....
"Where's your brush?"
When I was a little girl, I used to make a fuss when my mother plaited (braided) my hair for school. She would bopp me lightly on the head with the brush.
Still. I've never bopped Lexie - and I don't scuttle away from hair brushes.

yes, You may borrow Missy, but you would have to also be happy with Capt. too, as he is very possessive of her. Now if you say the word Bath to Capt. He will go and jump in the tub and wait for you. Silly boy.

Now, there's a thing. As a puppy Lexie loved the bath, she'd chase the water down the drain all day. But now, I have to wrassle her in there.

You should see Lorelei when Chloé trims her nails. Her eyes get huge and black, and she GROWLS and GROWLS...but never a bite nor a scratch! She's a weird cat. I miss Stella I need a dog.

There Claire! (That rhymes in English...)
I'm sorry, I didn't remember we'd lost Stella. You definitely need a dog. May I offer Lady Alexis of Barwillow?

I'd love Lady Alexis! She would be treated like the Royal she is. Stella died in July 2013...but man, it's hard, still. In the meantime, when I'm in France I dote on my parents' dog, Florane. She is sooo smart and lovely and easy to train. I wanted to steal her, but they objected...

Florane is beautiful. I am sorry about Stella. She should still be here.

Wow, gorgeous dog Niaru! Yes, they stick with us long after they're gone.
Bara, don't be giving your good dog away. Perhaps Sue, our resident dog trainer, would love the challenge of Sir Bites Alot?

Yes, you're right, Zen, I wouldn't want to lose Perfect Dog. And yes, where's Sue??
Sir Bites A lot is simply scared of EVERYTHING. He wants to be a cuddly dog, but he doesn't trust anyone or anything. I've learned his body language and when he gets that 'wild' look in his eyes - but still, I have to be aware.
Niaru, Florane is a Belgian, isn't she?
I saw on Facebook that ClaireLVhas an Irish Wolfhound. I'm jealous!!
