Are you relieved? Will the Yes and No's reunite?

Oh yes, very relieved! I only voted yesterday morning. I was watching the results all night. Shetland and Orkney were never really in doubt, but we are so small. We were the third results in. Only 3 constituancies voted 'yes', but they were big catchments.
Yay! I don't need a passport to go and visit my horses!

Since I was up and working I was keeping an eye on your election. Perhaps another time, but it will make travel easier. That is, if I can ever get it together to get across the pond again.

I don't think it's over. But over for my lifetime. 45-55% is not that large a margin, although all the reports are saying 'big win'. Shetland and Orkney were never in doubt, but I like to think that my vote helped! For Deb - who knows about William Wallace and the first Scottish Wars of Independence; I don't think we're going to hang, draw and quarter Alex Salmond. Nor display his head on a pike on Tower Bridge. It would upset the commuters trying to get to work! Nor can I see Mel Gibson playing Alex. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Wallace

What was good to see was so many people voting. Every vote does count, as it shows people are paying attention what's happening. In that, the Yes votes did have a big win. The No's were being more realistic to the big picture, but bad political policies that hurt or eliminate what they were worried they'd lose could easily turn the No's into Yes's I'd think.
Here we have problems with apathy and voter suppression.

Yes, over 84% average and up to 90% in a few places. That's unprecedented. I think the hearts of the Scots were with independence, but the YES campaign didn't address the facts: currency, pensions, infrastructure, revenues..
It will all come up again.
Here's a thought. It's all in the phrasing. The question was : "Should Scotland become independent?"
It could have been : "Should Scotland remain in the United Kingdom?"
I wonder ....

GOOD NEWS!!!! I was following this on the BBC. I go to bed with the BBC every nite. They had some really good and interesting ' man-on-the-street' interviews. Sixteen and seventeen year olds were permitted to vote and WERE EXCITED about it and taking it VERY SERIOUSLY. Can't imagine that happening here. The other thing I found very interesting is that ALL reporting on the ELECTION is not allowed during the vote to avoid influencing the outcome. That is a GOOD idea! It did seem touch and go there for a while. The no's looked like they were going to succumb, BUT they held on! Hopefully everyone can move on and Scotland's concerns will be addressed. I don't know all the issues Scotlanders have, BUT it seems it would be in England's best interests to listen and work to rectify those issues. YOUR VOTE COUNTED ,BARA!!!!!

Catalonians are disappointed in the outcome of the vote, BUT it gives them the impetus to ask for a vote. hmmmm…….

I'm not sure that I understand the issues, Truth, and I live here! Yes, Catalonia has been campaigning for independence for as long as I can remember.
YES! My vote counted!

From what I understand China has been watching with terror. The thought that a country like Great Britain would even give Scotland the power to have such a vote, has them mortified.

I thought about you last week, Bara! well, I think about you more often than that, you know, but I was curious to see if you would be living in a foreign country! Haha. I was interesting. I really thought the Yes side had a chance! But it's just like Quebec, somehow they never can manage to get enough votes. Relief for many people and not just the UK! Catalonia, Flanders, Brittany, Corsica...many more regions with independence on their minds were watching closely!
