New Here - Looking for Stables in Denver Area

Hi,
I've been reading exracers for several years and learned so much from all of you.  I have finally joined! 


Magic raced in Tampa, FL very poorly and I bought him from a woman who rescued him in North Carolina.  We have been together 6 wonderful years now.  We have both learned so much from each other as he was an abused boy who didn't even want to be groomed when I got him.  Wouldn't let me touch his ears but I could ride him.  lol  I have always ridden thoroughbreds but never one off the track.    


Anyway, now I want to move to the Denver, CO area as my husband is out there working permanently.  I'm looking for stables near the area ( I found several with online searching but I know riders are the best sources).  Plus I need advice on moving him such a long distance of 1,700 miles.  I have an estimate from a professional van line and that's awesome but I worry anyway.  (I'm a great worrier).  I take care of Magic myself and hardly trust anyone else.  What time of year is best to move him, what's the best way to cope with the extreme change of weather, ( hot and humid here, dry and cool out there) should I wrap his legs to travel or use shipping boots?   So many questions!!!  

He is prone to ulcers but he gets U-Gard pellets everyday to keep that in check.  Other than that he's quite healthy.
