Remember I was worried about Surge being sold to the people with the trainer who didn't want him and said bad things about him? Well, I didn't tell you guys everything that she said, but there was more than the fact she thought he was skinny and wormy. Anyway, we got this from his new 12 year old owner's father. "Just wanted to pass on to you that Surge and Sharon competed Saturday in a local show. They took First in Limited Hunter under Saddle (about 20 other competitors) and fourth in what they call a Mini Medal (2' over fences) at the end of the year all 1st through 4th's in the Mini Medals compete for the Medals. Not bad for being togather for just a little over a week. Sharon's trainer stated that the more she is around him the more she likes him, that he is so calm that nothing seems to bother him. Any way I attached a photo of Surge and Sharon after they won their first. Rick S" Only a week and a 12 year old girl is winning on him at local shows. I'm sorry, but I think that's pretty darn good, even if it is just a local show. This is a 6 year old TB cross who has mostly done Eventing too, not an aged packer. I know that Surge is not the most stylish Hunter, but he is consistent (not to mention flashy). We had been told to pull him off the market, put some training into him and sell him as a Hunter for at least $12,500, but we didn't. Anyway, I'm just very excited for him and his new rider. I hope they continue to do well, and prove her trainer wrong about him. Here is a photo they sent. I think that look is, "lady, let go of my face"..lol.

Well, of course the trainer is going to have to say she's getting to like him. Shoot, he won a 1st and 4th at his first show. Hard to keep on the I don't like this horse when the judges do. ;D
