What's his name has vacation in about two weeks, he'll have 3 weeks off It's just so hard when your used to being home alone for most of the day and suddenly there he is all day long. So anyone else doing anything this summer, can't believe it's June already.

I know brooks, it seems like only yesterday we were dealing with sub-zero temps. no exciting plans here, just same things. Make sure there is enough hay for the winter, work in the garden and etc, etc.

So are you two gonna take a road trip or something?
That's the problem with my job change. All my vacation time, except one week has been burned. Only trip I took was the one to New York to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction thing, though a few of the weeks watching the temps drop and snow fall was easier when I didn't have to go out of the house, except to clear the driveway. Still have one week that I'm 'floating' and haven't decided when I will try to take that. Not sure I'll go anywhere as there is so much to do here, but who knows.

We are Seattle-bound later this summer. I can't wait. My best friends are up there. Last time we went, I got to ride horses on the Pacific beaches. I'm considering a mountain trail ride this time!

No big road trips here, we are going down to Los Angeles (Riverside actually) for the Wake of Brian's step-father. It's just over night. We have a friend coming to stay over night to care for all the kids But other the that, maybe a few day trips to the coast. Mostly just work and play here.

Tee, my first job, whilst I was at Uni, was on a steam railway. (You couldn't make it up.) It was Rhodesia Railways at the time - now Zimbabwe.
It wasn't a 'novelty' it was the working railway from Cape to Cairo. I worked in the PR office. We had steam enthusiasts from all over the world. I could still give you a lecture on narrow and wide gauge - if you wish!!!
Anything you want to know about 20th Class Garratts? I'm your woman.
Strangely enough, I've re-connected with another 'young girl' who worked there. I think Zen may have the picture, somewhere.
See? You'd never have known that I'd shovelled coal and ridden a footplate.

Hello! Long lost, wasn't I! Summer...well working like mad. I changed jobs in January-a small promotion to a larger library where I run the youth services department. Love it! Bruce and I recently spent a weekend at Pleasant Hill, Kentucky, in a historical Shaker village. Grand horse country in those parts. This past weekend two daughters were home. Joanna helped me pick strawberries and Mary helped me make jam. Pam would laugh at our puny efforts, but it was fun! In early August we will go to my 40th high school reunion, and in late August to the lake. It all feels so leisurely, now that I've finished school!
I rarely ride now. After all those years with Cypress it seems strange. But it was always just about that one, particular mare for me.
Good summer to you all!

Ah, the infamous summer by the lake pictures. Can't wait to see this years. Yeah, much as I love Zen and Guy, I often miss my Flynn. So when do we get to have some jam?
