I'm suffocating from the heat!!!!!!!!!!!
You KNOW it has been cold when 40°F is too warm for anything heavier than a sweatshirt. Three days ago, we hit a high of 0°F and now it's well above freezing. I can actually see bare dirt in places where I shoved the white crap from the yard and lane.
Now comes the fun of keeping the house warm enough not to shiver and cool enough not to feel like I am in an oven!!!ROFL

Got Mud? I get it Big Tee, when it got into the 20's it felt like a heat wave. Into the 40's it started to feel too hot for a jacket. It's getting into the 50's today, maybe I should wear shorts? As for the house, after the last set of bills, once we start getting highs at night above freezing I will be bundling up at home until the AC has to go on. Now we just have to watch the river levels, but since it's not raining, OK, we are supposed to get snow Tuesday/Wednesday, but that won't cause the flooding issues rain would have. Even so, I've been checking on the water levels in the area and they are coming up again. My house is fine, but flooding can change how I get places. Seriously not complaining about the warmup. Went to the Illinois Horse Fair last Friday (where it tends to be a little bit warmer then where I live) and as I was walking around I realized it was the first day I went outside without underarmour on or a coat. It was a pretty good fair there this year. Everyone raves about the Midwest Horse Fair because it's so huge and all indoors. I rather like the smaller Illinois Fair, as it's easier to run into old friends. OK and it's only a couple of hours away vs about five hours away.

I noticed something else this morning - Rambo looked weird. Took another look and he is really a black and clay coloured pinto; he obviously found mud to roll in.

Zen was just looking for grass! Actually I got lucky, he rolled in the big mud puddle so some of the water washed some of the worst mud (according to the BO) off.

BTW, so much for warming up. We are looking to get 6 to 8 inches of snow tonight. Joy.

I now have mud and small puddles where the snow has been moved away. Not gonna be long before I have to park the truck close to the road and ferry stuff across the large puddle with the tractor

If my camera worked, I could show you that Goalie is the same color as Zen. We have everything on the farm. mud puddles, ice shelves from the leaking water line, 4 ft drifts that are hard enough to get the wheel barrow up with manure, and did I mention mud?
It is suppose to snow again on Wed. this time it is a true "Siberian Express" as the weather guy calls it. Then up to 50 on Friday. The boys are shedding. I am so ready for spring.

Went shopping this morning and thought I would have to walk from the road and then take John to ferry the groceries from the truck to the house. Chanced it and I dunno if that was wise or not but the truck is in the yard rather than the road.
Weather liar says it's gonna get cold again on Thursday and stay that way to Monday.
