Took a few quick ones today on the way to my mother's for her birthday. Might try for some more tomorrow, but brrrrrrrr the fingers get cold trying to take pictures at 0* or so Fahrenheit. Recognize this stick poking out from a previous picture? check out the ice that has grown around it since Lowhead dams are cool with ice. Ducks and geese are cold on ice. The swans are too cold to chase away the geese. Check out the white bodied Canadian goose.

Me too! lol We had those temperatures a couple weeks ago - NOT fun. The ducks at the barn seemed ok tho, which is amazing to me. Charm had icicles on her nose. On the plus side - when it's that cold, the snow/ice stays put on the roof! Haha. Today it was 40. Maybe tomorrow I'll try hacking Charm out. Everything is still covered in snow, but I'm coming down with a bit of cabin fever, being stuck in the indoor.

That's the thing about this winter, we keep having those temps. Today wasn't bad, even got up to 32*F. Of course, we got several more inches of snow too. My drive is starting to look like Tee's yard. Wouldn't be so bad, but this is the year the snow blower decided to have issues. Have been making it work, but would love it to not snow for more then a few days at a time so I could get it fixed. The flange bearing on the auger pully has worn out, so it's not in alignment, which is what caused the first belt to fail and the new belt to not want to stay on. Thought about doing the repair myself until I saw a video for removing the flange bearing from the auger on YouTube and decided, well, maybe not. Anyway, aside from some pony time I took some more pictures by the dam. Jan 29 This is a Canadian Goose, like the white bodied one has an irregular pattern. I think it's cool. Jan 30th Thinking it looked something like this today, but more snow.

That looks a lot like right here zen. Our snow-blower is working overtime. I think the discouraging part is when you just clean the machine off and put away, it starts snowing again. Here's hoping all this snow will help the water table.

Nice sunset (sunrise? I can never tell!) photo! Cold sunny days make for beautiful light.
We're supposed to get 5 to 8 inches on Wednesday. It hasn't been as cold around here lately, thankfully, it was even raining today. When it gets down to single digits and below I start worrying about the horse's water freezing indoors. The barn where Charm is for the dead of winter does not allow electric buckets, and her insulated bucket is good down to 15-ish, then she can't break through. Fortunately the barn help is pretty good at giving them fresh water first thing when they're turned out in the morning.

It's a sunset, common, the sun sets in the west. Yeah, we're getting a bunch more snow tonight. I love snow, just not every third day. More snow this weekend too. I may not have to mow my lawn until July, because it may take that long for all the snow to melt. I do now have another old snow blower to use so I can wait until next year to get a new one or get the old one fixed. Getting great pics of the boys in the snow though. OK and another Swan picture. s698.photobucket.com/user/yzenrider/slideshow/February%202014

It's a sunset, common, the sun sets in the west. hehe but it's rather hard to tell West from East when looking at a photo if you've never been to the place! (on that note - my daughter got lost in the woods this past fall and had to be rescued by the forest rangers, so her christmas present was an old fashioned COMPASS ) Snow day today! No school, offices are closed. It's coming down pretty hard! Do I dare brave the roads in my little car to go see Charm....

;D Didn't get any pony pics yesterday. They actually had them out and had just brought them in when I got there, so I just added some dam pictures. Sorry, can't help myself. Figured it would only be a matter of time, yup got a picture of some guys trying to fish by the dam.

Not sure how much it's stolen, as there is too much to go around this winter. Worst, we are getting more of the white crap today. Driving to work and during work is going to be oh so much fun. Enough already. Starting to wonder why I decided not to go to Florida this winter. Hmmm, wonder if I could get a last minute deal for at least a few days in the Keys.
