This last week Brian's truck has been in the shop, major repair then they called and said the repair was done but now they couldn't get the truck to start I took this has a sign that it was time for a new car. A long and tiresome job it is. We started with the computer, then went to some local dealer's THEN I dragged him down to the bigger city and went to my favorite car store Toyota........pictures soon....got all my ducks in a row and then signed papers today. A lovely 2013 silver Prius C, cute as a bug. Yes we will look into hand controls so I can drive it. It would only with Brian because the chair must ride in the trunk (boot). Toyota has a program where they will reimburse you up to $1000 for installation of the controls I will have to contact the local company that does that and see what they cost today. GMC had the same program when I got my truck.

Prius! So cool. I have never driven one, but they look like fun. And they are developing a bit of style, too. Have a great time with it. I bet it will run like a top.

Congrats on a new car. Ad, funny thing about that styling, Pontiac caught a lot of grief when they introduced that body style with the Aztec. Don't worry, everyone I've known that had an Aztec, loved theirs.

Congrats on the new car! Yes the Prius line is making progress style-wise and the C is the best looking of the bunch IMO. Zen - Aztecs were soooo ugly, hahaha! You don't see many around nowadays.

Ya know, I never thought the Aztec was ugly. Certainly never as ugly as the Citroen. It did have kind of a funky front end thing going on and what they were thinking with the squared off wheel wells, but it was pretty awesome otherwise in features. Meaning you could fit a full sized plywood board with the back seats folded laying flat, built in air compressor, and such. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Aztek My neighbor across the street has one, solid black, so maybe that's what makes it look better? I've seen on the north side of town too. Both are looking very good for their age. Aztecs were only made from 2001 to 2005. The one guy a knew had over 200,000 before he traded his in. Apparently Toyota thought it was a good look or the Prius wouldn't look like a little Aztec. If fuel economy wasn't the thing I look at the most these days, I think I'd go find one of those. Though for what it is, it's economy isn't that bad really.

What are you talking about Zen ? The Pontiac was a SUV big large tall over sized thing.
The Prius is small and cute and short. No comparison at all.

I always love the little cars in the old movies. They look like the first one you posted. There is one in the movie How to Steal a Million with Audrey Heburn and Peter O'Toole. It's a little red car we see her driving in the first few minutes of the movie. A 1965 Autobianchi Eden Roc [110F]

What cute little cars you got to drive Claire. My first car was a 1966 Pontiac Le Mans. I was huge, could seat 6 with room. It was great for camping the truck was endless.

Brooks my first car was a '67 Impala sedan with a 283 engine and the 2 speed power glide transmission that ensured no racing starts from me. Great first car. I had as many as 8 in it once, no seat belt laws then, though preferred not to have more than 3 in the front, as the extra person made steering a little difficult. Ah, the things we did way back when. We called it the Tardis, because it looked bigger on the inside then the outside. Something about that aqua(turquoise green according to Cheech)color. I parked it next to it's twin in white and the same car looked bigger then mine. Second car was a '77 Buick Regal with a 350 and a 400 turbo trans. That one could haul ass, good thing I knew most of the Lombard (town I worked in back then) cops back then. Being the old fashioned Buick sport/luxury it was a little front heavy and floaty on tight curves, but boy that car could get up and go. Then there was the beater Ford Cortina I had in the UK, kinda named by whoever the jokester was that removed the R and made it FOD, which was the flight line acronym for Foreign Objects and Debris. followed by a very basic Chevy S10, when they were still considered a half ton truck, that, aside from not having AC, I kind of regret ever selling that one. I don't think I would have been able to do a lot of the things I did with Flynn without it. It was a workhorse, could tow my little two horse and got fantastic fuel economy, up to 24mpg towing nearly 30 not. Of course, when I got Zen and needed a bigger trailer that's kind of why that one went. Sigh. Only a few more to get where I am now, but am really thinking about the Chevy Cruzes. Test drove one of the new diesels they have and it was pretty nice. I tend to not want to buy first year changes, but they do have a 5 year 100,000 mile drive train warranty on them. If they have a 0% interest offer anytime soon it might be quite tempting. Sorry about the highjack. Reminiscing and thinking about the future. Seriously, I wish you the best of luck with your new Prius Brooks. After all, if we all liked the same vehicle they'd really be expensive. Diversity and competition is a great thing.
