I know she's had a lot on her plate, but I get a bit panicky when our friends go quiet. CALLING DEB!

Nope, sent her a Christmas card, but no word from her. Have you tried e-mailing her?

Here I be! Zen, thank you for the card. I didn't send out any this year. I had the holiday blues this year and just couldn't get into the swing of it. We nearly lost my sister, Patty's husband in November a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving and still not doing well.
Thank You, Terrie for letting me know I was being asked about. I miss everyone and do so wish I could make plans for 2014 Rolex, but my health just prevents my even thinking of being there. I love you all.

Hey, glad you got the card Deb. Sorry to hear of your BIL's health issues. Glad to hear from you. Yeah, Rolex isn't likely to happen for me this year either or at least not a full blown Rolex. I couldn't get that week off this year. It seems to me much as it would have been fun to have a 10 year revisit, a lot of us are having a hard time with that week this year. Maybe next year? That's the downside of my new job, same company, but it puts me pretty much at the bottom of the vacation pick list. OK, I'm second from the bottom. However, there are a lot of people that can retire this year and some with a lot of years that may be offered retirement incentives. May not improve my picks next year a lot, but should improve them.

Our weather has finally warmed back up to normal temperatures, but Winter is not over yet. The "deep freeze temps" we had paralyzed the entire area. Plus we had some ice and snow mixed in with the cold temps. Area schools were out for 3 weeks. First from the Christmas Holidays then the negative windchill factor. We have a heater in our well house, but it wasn't set for the extreme cold so we did have frozen water pipe in the well house. Max upped the temperature setting so the line thawed pretty quickly. I Then as if we needed it we got a Minature Australian Shepard puppy on Oct 31 when he was 6 weeks old. Our Schnauzer passed away about a year ago. On the positive side Gus, the puppy, has added some laughter and merriment to our lives. However, trying to potty house train a puppy in the dead of Winter is quite a challenge. He is learning to use house training potty pads with good success. I have already started obedience training him starting with sit and down with roll-over thrown in. He loves to play fetch and does really well with bringing the ball back to me. My back and legs give out on me to quickly so our sessions are short. When Max goes out to grain and hay Candy Gus goes along to with our Corgis and big dog, Tuff. My BIL has a history of developing blood clots in his legs and had been on warfarin for sometime. He stopped taking the blood thinner and 3 months later in November he developed blood clots in both lungs along with pneumonia. He was in the intensive care unit at the hospital in critical condition. He and my sister have a "long load to tow".

You are very welcome Deb. It's good to catch up with you.
As for the holiday spirit.....at our house it went with the money we had to spend to get the water line fixed. It was leaking from the well pit to the horses water tank, so could not wait. That was on Christmas eve and were so glad it was fixed before the Polar Vortex hit our area. The leak ended up being right next to the fence post, so when our guy dug down he found a piece of broken off fence post. I remembered then.....that when we had the fence installed back in 1999, the guys were pulling old posts and driving down new posts. My dad told them "leave the old piece of post and put the new one right next to it. Our go-to guy for these things felt that the line had been nicked at that time and took all this time to become a huge problem. It made me cry thinking of my dad and realizing we were fixing a problem he didn't think was possible. So that was our holiday season. so9rry to hijack your thread Bara.

I'm glad you did, Terrie.
Deb, Charles (remember my ex?) You spoke with him on the phone a couple of times. He's on Warfarin, too, and has been since our last Rolex.
Doesn't seem to slow the s*d down. Again, love to Patty.

Bara, I do remember Charles and speaking with him on the telephone several times. How is life on the Shetland's?

Hi Deb, good to hear / read from you! I'm sorry you've had a rough patch. I didn't send out any cards either this year. Congratulations on the puppy! You'll HAVE to post pictures so I can have my puppy fix
