Oh, Zen, he was a rake and a drunk! Goodbye Mr Chips, though ...

Actually, from what I've read, he stopped drinking in '75 after fighting stomach cancer. He just didn't make a big deal about it. Now before that.... well, at least it taught him how to act drunk in the movies. In anyway, he did participate and star in some good movies.

Well, I loved 'Goodbye Mr Chips' - despite Petula Clarke. I WENT to that school, though it was 30 years later, on another continent and Girls, not Boys. Just the same. Ah, the good old British School System. Let's see... Our 'Mr Chips' was our History Teacher, Mrs Whitehouse. She would raid the art block - and we'd dress up and re-enact 'The Fall of Troy' ; Agamemnon or the French Revolution. And no. You're wrong - I wasn't Marie Antoinette. I was Charlotte Corday. Much more satisfying - Niaru will know! www.youtube.com/watch?v=52t3sIdNTWk
