Hi all, you've probably forgotten about me, it's been so long! I stalk this board, but haven't posted much. It's been pretty quiet on my end, as D got injured in late August in a freak accident with a low handing wooden gate to the arena. Luckily, while the injury was severe, it wasn't close to any joints or into the deep muscle, just took off the flesh down to the muscle on his gaskin area. It was gross, but missed the vital areas thank God! After 30 days off he was back slowly brought back under saddle, and we've basically just been trying to get back into shape ever since. Slowly, between work, weather and family visits! The wound is still healing, in the sense that hair is working its way back, but he's been sound and happy, and vet has been super happy with his progress and has no concerns. So, we're hoping for a 2014 season
I'm still scraping by keeping him lol, but with the personal condition that if the perfect home came and wanted to take him, he'd go. Otherwise, I'll just keep scraping by. I know, not smart, but we'll keep chugging along. We're at a new barn where he's in full care that I can afford. Great weight, the care is good but the arenas are awful and no jumps, but I'm getting creative
How is everyone? Board seems a little quieter than ever, where's everyone?
D giving me a nice moment the other day, in between showing me he is feeling quite well lol!

You can see his injury on his left hind. Vet said the "lump" will be remodeled by his body, but may take up to 2 years. I'm ok with that, he's alive!
