We still remember the veterans of the First World War. Those young men, of my grandfather's generation, who never got the chance to become old men. There are very few left - men in their 90's.
My grandmother was a nurse, in Normandy. These were the people who lived and died through 'Warhorse'.
We wear poppies - in remembrance of Flanders field.
Tcch.

We remember all Veterans that day, though I'm pretty sure WWI is where the tradition started.
