Mayo is OK, just not on hamburgers. Niaru, I'll come over for shrimp and crab anytime.

Zen, try stirring some fresh pesto into good quality mayo and put that on a grilled sirloin burger. On a toasted bun. With thinly sliced red onion and romaine lettuce. Your beer should be in a frosted mug.

But Ad,once you add something to the mayo, it's no longer mayo, but a different sauce. Now put blue cheese, lettuce, and tomato on the burger...

Re your Moose -
We had some Scandinavian friends who fed us roast reindeer. No, it wasn't Christmas.
But just before they served up, they showed us a video of the 'Hunt'. OMG. She was a tiny, fairy-like creature... but I couldn't get the picture out of my mind of her up to the armpits in a still heaving carcase.... gore everywhere.
"Would you like a little more?" Wielding her knife.
"No, thank you, Ingrid."

LOL! That would have done it for me as well. So what does reindeer taste like? I don't normally eat game so I was surprised I actually liked the moose!

Oh, apparently this is why the cell phone reception is bad!

That's exactly why there is no reception - those big rock piles do it every time.
I spent time in some pretty remote (and not so remote) areas in Alberta and B.C. Radio reception was spotty at best and TV didn't happen at all; even CB radios didn't work well although that has changed now with stuff like that running from satellites.

LOL! I read Ad's first post and was all like, "it's called poutine!!" and it can be quite yummy.
The bf and I might head up to Banff next spring, well, spring for us, and still some part of winter for them, or so I hear. We are debating Vancouver or Banff at the moment. I really wanted to do the martimes, but I think it would be out of the budget to add them in.

Disclaimer. She's a good photographer, but that's not hers! I think it was something from the film fest website.

Oh. I thought they were the ski-ers. We need pictures of THEM. Apres-ski.
Niaru - it was 'gamey'. I'm not a Venison fan. Too strong, I know too many deer. And I don't watch abattoire footage before cooking a steak.
OK, I know.

I have had Moose at Bennett Lake in the Yukon Territory, I was on the way to Whitehorse. Oh that sounds impressive, but was with parents on a summer vacation. It was tough and dry.
I use Blue Cheese for lots of stuff, meats mainly. Oooo steak with blue cheese dressing is really good.

Oh, yummy, Brooks! Stilton Steak!
Still. If I had to fell my own ox, I'd probably settle for a baked potato with blue cheese and chives...
Luckily, I don't have to.

Tough, dry moose - yummy.......BLECH!!! Whomever shot it must have run the poor bugger to death before shooting it. Last moose I had was very nice and almost tasted like beef, just a bit gamey. I love almost all wild meat but hunting is so expensive now and I can't do it anymore. Thankfully we can buy elk and bison at the store now.
That picture looks like the Three Sisters at Canmore. Was taken from the ski hill that didn't exist when I was there.
