Ha ha - that got you going!
No, bought a cooked, dressed crab at the supermarket today. It was awful. Dogs turned up their noses. Want my money back!

Now you know not to buy pre-cooked seafood. Learned my lesson with a shrimp ring......BLECH. Just tasteless and rubbery and the cats turned up their noses at it

You are so right. I did think, moving to the Northern Isles, I'd get great seafood. Good grief. I drive past oyster and mussel beds in the sea alongside the road, every day.
But no. Where do they actually sell them? You probably need to be part of the inner circle.
To the supermarkets, probably. So they probably travel in refrigerated cases, on a ferry all the way to the mainland. There, they're probably processed, packaged and sent back.
There's ONE place in Shetland where I can find fresh scallops. It's near the vet's, which is an hour away. Dogs' shots due in December. Can't wait!

I KNOW! 'Handmade Fish'!
The owner, pictured, is a typical 'Viking' Shetlander. Everybody looks the same - even the women. (Miaow!)
I'll let you guess which one pictured I'm talking about ......
