Yes, I know, but I could hardly title it "Didn't we used to have a Madam".
Maybe it's just me, but I don't seem to have seen you around for a while, Niaru.

I left her with the Dragons, who knows where they have taken her.

I managed to catch a glimpse of her on Facebook in an album of family photos from France! Boy you should see her girls Chloe and Morgane.... they are like beautiful movie stars these days!

Hi guys! yes I was in France. Eventful trip, aging parents, had to take my dad to the ER(he's better now), work on the house, and while I was away, Stella's health went downhill fast and she was euthanized on the last day of July - she was 14 years old, and considering her condition the vet thought it was best. I am heart broken and I feel I let her down, I wasn't even there to say goodbye. I'm so grateful to Nancy, who was with her until the end, and that was a big comfort to me, as Stella knew her well.
Now that I'm back home I miss Stella so much, she used to follow me everywhere all the time. The house feels so empty...everywhere I look reminds me of her. I think I'll be crying at random moments for a while...
On a happier note - the family reunion in Tuscany (where those photos were taken) was just what I needed after making that terrible decision about Stella. I am still not used at being "tagged" on Facebook...

Sorry about your father's emergency and the loss of Stella while you were gone. Um, are you going to be ready to leave for Wyoming this weekend? When do I need to pick you up from the airport? or are you driving. You best get moving lady! Glad the rest of your trip went well, especially the family reunion.

Wyoming? THIS week-end? What did I miss? I'd love to...but I'm going to a NH lake with some colleagues. It's become a tradition before school starts: a day of crêpes, ice cream, and afternoon by the lake. Are you really going to Wyoming Zen?
(ps - week-long family reunions with 20 people, young adults and young kids can be hit or miss...but this summer it was a hit. phew. )

Trying to get my act together to get out. Just never enough time during the week. If I can get my act together, might be able to leave early enough tomorrow to stop at that Festival of the Horse and Drum for a bit. That said, I'd best get moving if I'm to get anywhere.

Though I must say a day a day of crêpes, ice cream, and afternoon by the lake, sounds pretty good too.

Oh, Claire, I'm so sorry about Stella. She was such a fine dog, and we will feel her absence even here. There are no tidy categories in our lives, so it's not surprising that you experienced good family times right along with concerns for your parents and grief for the passing of your Stella. What a grand muddle it is. Hugs to you.
