We're having our house painted, which is silly, because we should be able to do it ourselves--one-story ranch, mostly brick anyway. But we have come to know our own limitations. So the workers showed up yesterday and power washed the house to prepare for painting. Oh my lord. It already looks a hundred times better. How embarrassing. I won't show before pictures, but by this time next week, I might have a good shot of the place.

This reminded me of a guy I used to work with. He was "special", and painted his ranch house. When he could not reach the roof peak from the ladder he was on, he used a mop to reach the peak. I never saw pictures, but heard it looked like a 3 year old had colored!!! Some people should know their limitations!!! lol

We solved the "house needs painted" with having vinyl siding put on our's. Neither Max nor I are physically able to do outside cosmetic work except for mowing the yard which Max does do with his rider mower. We would like to do some interior painting, but we're both not physically up to that either.

It's not silly. We have our strengths - and weaknesses. I was going to DIY the interior decoration ... Lisa's 3-yr-old with colouring pens springs to mind. I had no possible excuse for not doing it myself, except .... I ran out of crayons.
The Hungarians put it right. It's time for the exterior here, too, Ann. But it will have to wait until next year.
Looking forward to the pictures!
