what have you read ?
I am on my last of Poirot, the last Sue Grafton(Oooo she has a new one coming in Sept) and about to begin my yearly read of LOTR. I figure by the time I am done with LOTR the new Grafton book will be out.

Horse Never Lie About Love by Jana Harris. A very quick read and I am still on the fence whether I thought it was a good book or not. she bred babies and wondered what happened to them after they were sold. Never followed up on any of them though.

I just finished all of the Percy Jackson books. I had hoped they would be more of a replacement for Harry Potter, but no, they really are not. They seem to be written for a much younger audience than even the HP crowd, but I always have to finish series once I start them. Before PJ, I read Where Serpents Lie, which is supposed to be one of the best serial killer type fiction books, and I thought it was ok. Not great, but ok. Let's see, prior to that I read some stories about an American who went to Ireland to work with their criminal evidence group. Of course now I can't remember the names. I tried Sue Grafton, starting at A, but I found it a bit boring. Maybe they get better as they go along? Is there a certain one you would recommend Brooks?

About halfway through The Son, by Philipp Meyer. Texas. Comanches. Family saga. An oil woman. Not all topics I'd generally choose, but the writing is excellent!

I'm finishing l'Armée Furieuse by Fred Vargas. I really like her books - and her non-hero detective, Adamsberg. She's been translated into English, if you're interested: this book is called The Ghost Riders of Ordebec. I've read a few of her mysteries and I like them all. www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Fred%20VargasThen...I have a bunch of choices on my Kindle but I think I'll start with the latest Wool installment!
