This is the 150th anniversary of the Battle at Gettysburg. Our local PBS station is doing great coverage of the festivities, as is the national PBS. All week there are re-enactments, tours of the battlefield, and LOTS of stories. They interviewed a woman who bought a house near the battlefield. The house had bee vacant 30 years. She and her husband decided to restore it. They found shells, some still live, in the house. When they were having the attic restored, they found bullet holes. They had a CSI guy come in. He used luminal in the house and found evidence of A LOT of blood. They knew two people had been killed there during the battle, but the CSI said that many more had been at least injured there.
I know there are Civil War buffs on the board. thought you might be interested. Oh, Bara, you asked about haunted buildings. Yes, there are quite a few there. Gettysburg College has a haunted dorm. It was used as a hospital during the war. There are some very gross stories about what happened there. What a horrific battle.
