You may remember that when I first found out about the 'Sea Shepherds', I thought they were Greenpeace. They're not. Greenpeace don't try to kill people.
HOWEVER having made my peace with Greenpeace, I'M NOW ON THEIR MAILING LIST! Who wants to help me 'save the mushrooms'? Oh well, at least the murderous Shepherds are leaving me alone. Or are they? There's a strange ship docked outside my house ....

I wouldn't say that Greenpeace doesn't try to kill people, or at least that was not my personal experience with them, while being shot at... Then shortly after, the person in charge at that time left GP and went to work for the company they were lobbying against.
Anyway, I hope you get off of their mailing list. =)

Really?? That's terrible. Terrible. No, I'll stay on the list and I'll tell them. I'll ask them.

Yes, when I worked in Environmental Affairs for a natural gas pipeline company, we were shot at and run off of our right-o-way at gun point by Greenpeace. It was pretty crazy. We had to have a federal marshall come down and stay with us while on that job and we had to hire security guards (mosstly off duty police) to guard us. Just a lot of ridiculousness. I don't think the whole organization is like that, but the leader at that time, Dr. Mueller, was off her rocker. Luckily she is gone now and they may have gone back to more peaceful protests.

May I ask them? I won't mention your name. They were so 'holier than thou' about the Sea Shepherds. I do hate the Sea Shepherds, but I've been telling everyone that Greenpeace has moved on since the Rainbow Warrior days.
Seems like I'm wrong. Again.

This was several years ago in North Alabama, the North Alabama Pipeline Project. They had websites and things against us. I suppose some of it still might be on the internet. Feel free to ask away.

I've asked. Guess what? I know they're only kids, manning the phones and the website. And they mean really well.
Tiddly pom.

I'm pushing it - poor Issy.
Thanks, Issy. I have told her. She’s still upset. Here’s what she said. Can you look it up? I really want you guys to be clean. as I’m sure you do. Thanks

Yes, she is quite outspoken about it being Greenpeace who were firing at them. Neither you nor I were there, but I can ask her. I would guess they were drilling for oil. Do you know of any campaigns against that? We can both look it up. I’m sorry, Issy, I don’t mean to be nasty to you, but my friend feels quite strongly. Well, you would, if people pulled guns on you. Best B From: wuk@greenpeace.org Sent: Wednesday, July 03, 2013 2:55 PM To: Barbara Jacobs Subject: RE: What do you say to this? When you say ‘they’ do you mean Greenpeace? And is the pipeline project for drilling for oil or against drilling for oil? Sorry to be thick – I just am a bit confused – she is upset cos she was part of this project and we campaigned against it – but we should have been for it?? if you have any detail on the project that would be great
Thanks so much

It was a natural gas pipeline project. Greenpeace came in and told the landowners that if they signed up w/ GP and paid $500 per household, that Greenpeace would stop the pipeline. The people did, natural gas is a utility and has eminent domain, GP didn't bother telling the landowners this and it spiraled out of control from there. We had to hide behind a bulldozer one day with shots being fired at us, and another time the KKK ran us off of the right-o-way at gun point. Mueller seemed to be trying to get them to do their bidding. We had numerous townhall type meetings with the residents and GP reps there, and received nothing but death threats basically. It was crazy. I'm not saying that GP has to be for anything they don't believe in, but they do have groups within the organization that could be classified as eco-terrorists, and those groups need to be cut out before they infect the whole barrel.

Crikey! Greenpeace and the KKK? I'll pass it on, though I think that the person I'm communicating with is quite a very young lady. I'm feeling a tad guilty for picking on her.
