Shelby and Zak just completed their first recognized USEF/USEA 3-phase event, and they came in 6th out of 16- I am sooo proud!!
They finished their first dressage test with no off-course points deducted, and scored a 41, which Shelby thinks sucks, but I think is totally respectable. They had one rail down in showjumping, and went double clean in cross country, on a course that had multiple refusals and 2 riders come off. All of this was in 90-degree heat. She is also very proud of her big green ribbon.
Hopefully professional pictures will be as good as last weekend's on Wilson.

Congratulations !! I can't wait to see the pics. I think Zak and Shelly are just going to keep getting better and better. We need to see that green ribbon.

Professional pictures are posted! The photographer didn't make it easy to find them, but if anyone is interested, the website is www.focusequine.com. Go to "clinic proof, clinics and shows", and type in encore for username and password. Shelby and Zak are in Jumping 101-end (page 3, pics 2-6) and Cross Country 80-End (page 7, pics 3-6) Thanks for looking, I am so proud of both of them! BTW, Shelby needs to figure out how to keep a better expression on her face!

I'm on my phone so I can't get to the pics well...I will hopefully look tomorrow. Can't wait to see them!!
But I had to laugh about your comment about expressions...I had a client just about a week ago call me up to tell me how much she disliked all of my photos of her granddaughter at an event. The reason? Because the granddaughter has a bad expression on her face in the event photos. What was I supposed to do? Yell out "smile!!" to her as she sped by on her barrel horse?

Did you suggest her granddaughter where a mask? Thea, that's about the only coaching I give friends at shows. "Smile, this is fun."

I was honestly too surprised to say much at all! LOL!

Before Shelby goes in the arena I always try to say to her, this ride is not going to solve world hunger, and world peace does not depend on how you ride!

Gosh I really want to see the photos, but I can't figure out how to navigate it! There's just a tiny line of photos in a slideshow and no navigation! Congrats to Shelby on her fantastic event! 41 is a wicked good score for a first recognized!

They are gorgeous pics, all of them, but I'm guessing that the "pages" are different for each one. I found the galleries for both jumping 101-end & cross country 80-end, but the pics on those are of different people...one is on a cute little palomino, one is on a nice chestnut! ::dontknow::
Smay, to get to them, once you log in, it'll automatically take you to the dressage photos. BUT, you want to hover your mouse over the menu item on the left called "client proofs, clinics & shows". This will bring up the other galleries. You're looking for the ones called jumping 101-end and cross country 80-end. The titles are over them if you hover over the individual little pics. Then to navigate through the individual pics, just use the buttons in the lower right corner.
The photographer takes lovely, lovely pics, but those are not easy galleries to navigate at all!
