After 2 years I finally looked up D's tattoo so I can enroll him in the TB incentive program for our upcoming event.
Well....my horse isn't my horse! He's 10, not 9, a different mother but same sire! He ran 2 times, not 3, and according to the reports he absolutely sucked at it lol. Made $143 dollars...never even tried to run...hmm fits his personality that's for sure.
His JC name is obviously different too. I emailed his breeder so I can mail back the wrong JC papers I have and get his correct ones. Crazy, because the description on the papers are SO similar to D, it didn't even raise any alarms that they were the wrong papers!
Really doesn't change anything except he's older, and heck I could have just registered him with the USEA with his actual name because its not as atrocious as "For Huachuca"...his actual name is "Coincidentally" which ok, still isn't great lol.
I had really no reason to look up his tattoo before, and like I said, the description on the papers fit him to a T! Right down to the markings on his coronet band.
Oh my!

Interesting that there could be such a mix-up with his papers! Good thing you looked up his tatoo, eh? Did he really only win $143? That is too funny!

His owner offered me the "real" Fort Huachuca too lol, sadly one pony is all I can handle right now!

Well, there's really not much difference so no biggie, right? One year different is nothing. I supposed there are a lot of chestnut TBs of that age and he doesn't have much white, right? At least he beat Teddy's record which was three DNFs! haha

Too bad you can't take the "real" Fort Huachuca. Just think what a nice pas-de-deux you could ride!

Teddy had THREE DNFs? What a rebel.
Welkin, it would be sort of strange to get this information. It doesn't really change anything except what is in your mind. He is the horse he is, whoever he is, and he's yours!

Well, your horse is still your horse, he just had a different name and race attitude and registration papers then originally thought. Though it is strange they mixed up the papers, but not unprecedented. I think his name Coincidentally is a fantastic and awesome name, but I don't think he's too worried about the official stuff. ;D

lol no, it doesn't change a single thing, except we can't keep making fun of his JC name! The breeder had 60-80 horses when I got D, I was honestly pretty surprised we had any papers for him at all, to be honest! Just kinda funny

Just kinda lucky too, usually when that happens the horse is 10 or more years older then the seller said... though you would have probably caught on to that, if that had been the case.
