Just an update for the WOOL fan people. I've already read it, and I would like to know what you guys thought of these last 2 installments.
The previous book was kind of confusing for me. I hit the end of the book and wondered where I lost the story as I still felt like I was waiting for something. This newest book starts putting the bits and pieces together and seemed more meaty to me.

I just started Second Shift. So far I like it, but I'm just in the early pages. Hubby has already read Third Shift, and liked it.

I think I missed one before this last one maybe? If not I might have to read it again because I can't even remember where he left off. But first I have to finish my current book. Thanks for letting me know!

Ok, I'm back on track. I'm 3/4 into 2nd shift, so far so good. I saw that he also has another Silo story out, "The Runner", has anyone read it?

LOL! At the end of the newest book he says there is no epilogue, but turn a few pages and there is an epilogue.
I'm not sure I read those chapters, so I might have to go back and check now. I also don't think I've seen "The Runner". I looked for "Dust" because I read somewhere that it was out, but it doesn't show completed on the author's webpage and I never found a copy for sale.
AFter googling, I see it's fanfic of Wool. hhmmmm..
"An amazing story was just self-published on Amazon. It takes place in a buried silo where population control is critical, the Down Deep is flooding, and loved ones are being put to death. It is suspenseful and gut-wrenching. It is based on Wool. And I didn’t write it. This isn’t the first piece of fan fiction from the Wooliverse. Lacuna author David Adams brought us Shear Terror, a frightening and brilliant satire of Wool fandom-gone-wild. It took place within our world while referencing Wool, and rumor has it that David is now wrapping up another story from within the Wooliverse. Meanwhile, WJ Davies has just released one of his own. I don’t want to spoil the plot; I’ll just say that The Runner is a fantastic story that deserves to be read. Davies riffs on the flashback structure of the original Wool and writes with an evocative style that I wish I could emulate. The concept of giving up rooms to save a silo is brilliant. You’ll have to read to see what I mean. After diving into the story, I raved about it on Facebook, which sparked an interesting discussion. People want to know if this is okay with me. It most certainly is! WJ asked me for permission, and I readily granted it. His plan was to give the work away, but I told him he was crazy (the same thing I told David Adams a while back). I suggested he post the story on Amazon and charge for his hard work. One commenter pointed out that technically this isn’t fanfic since it has a price, and while I agree with the distinction, I like to think we can have the best of both worlds. The writing in this story is top-notch, but the spirit is one of fanfic rather than licensing. Besides, I’m not making a cent off these works. Anyone can write them as far as I’m concerned. All comers have my blessing as a fellow writer (and as an appreciative reader). Let’s not forget that the top-selling author of 2012 came from fan fiction. EL James’s series 50 Shades of Grey accounted for 1 out of every 20 books sold last year. Let that sink in for a moment. Yes, the names were changed and the book edited to avoid the fanfic label, but why not celebrate the work’s origins? Whatever you think of the popularity of the series, I believe we should give this rise from reader to writer to bestseller a round of applause. I certainly do! (Speaking of bestseller, The Runner has already cracked the top 100 in two Amazon categories! I like to think I took the first of many screen-caps to come in WJ Davies’s writing career. Lord knows, I’m an expert.) "

I know, I just saw that it was fanfic, but the reviews are good enough that I'll give it a try.
I just finished 3rd shift (including the epilogue, lol) and I think I've forgotten a few things because I am confused (SPOILER ALERT following, for those who have not read the series).
Juliette is back in Silo 18? I forget how? And what happened to Solo/Jimmy and the kids? Did they dig their way from 17 into 18?
Donald thought he saw green grass / blue skies when the drone failed. I think I remember that in the 1st (or 2nd?) book the cleaners' helmet screens had been modified to show green grass / blue skies. So what gives with the drone?
And, is Donald sick from having removed his glove outside? What's going on with him? Why didn't he just die from it right away like other cleaners?
Please, someone refresh my memory...maybe I should re-read all the books! lol
MTA I just finished the Runner. Not bad! True to the Wool spirit. A few annoying typos. But a good quick read.

I just finished Third Shift. Spoiler alert ahead... Shadow made me cry. I'm a sap, though. I enjoyed it very much. It's very late, and I'm heading to bed, so a more in depth review will have to wait. But I'm looking forward to Dust.

I'll attempt to answer Niaru's questions....but I could be totally wrong on my suppositions below, so take it with a grain of salt..lol... Juliette is back in Silo 18? I forget how? And what happened to Solo/Jimmy and the kids? Did they dig their way from 17 into 18? Yes, Jules is back in 18. If I remember correctly, at the end of the Wool, book 5, she was leaving to go back over to 18. She left Solo & the kids there in 17. I don't think it answered how/if Solo & the kids got from 17 to 18 yet - if it did, I don't remember that part. I suspect that will come in Dust. Donald thought he saw green grass / blue skies when the drone failed. I think I remember that in the 1st (or 2nd?) book the cleaners' helmet screens had been modified to show green grass / blue skies. So what gives with the drone? I suspect the drones are showing what the world looks like in reality now. I have a suspicion that the world outside of the former Atlanta area is regrowing...and perhaps the Atlanta area got the brunt of what went so awfully wrong and is the last area to regrow, OR perhaps was the only area to go "bad"...but I could be wrong...not absolutely certain on that. Again, that'll probably come clearer in Dust. And, is Donald sick from having removed his glove outside? What's going on with him? Why didn't he just die from it right away like other cleaners? In First Shift, you see Donald go into the chamber with Thurman, who was getting treatment with the machines. I suspect that he got enough of the machines in him that he is slightly immune, but not totally. We know he had an immunity to the water and had started remembering...so he is probably immune in other ways as well. MTA I just finished the Runner. Not bad! True to the Wool spirit. A few annoying typos. But a good quick read. Yay - I just bought that today. I'll probably read it tonight before bed...

Thanks Unbound! That is pretty much what I thought. I can't wait for Dust and the Juliette / Donald confrontation. Should be FUN!
